Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

Why was MWII despised?
*Shit gameplay changes
*Shit maps
*LGBT shit everywhere
*Retarded story
*Most new content in multiplayer is just cut content that was planned for MW2019
*More SBMM and AI janny shit everybody hates
*Absolutely retarded skins that took over the entire game's ecosystem
*DMZ was a failure
*Hackers everywhere
*Grind-a-thon with little actual rewards

I could go on. It's hilarious that COD cattle are so beaten down that now we might be seeing them praising MWII as a "misunderstood masterpiece" because of how shit BO6 is.

*Hackers everywhere

The thing about hackers is once I've run into a couple, it spoils every game for a good while. Did I get caught by a blindfired RPG blast the second I spawned because the guy with the RPG was wallhacking or lucky? Did the guy with the Kar98 noscope me twice in a row because he was hacking or just really, really practiced? Did the guy jumping around the corner and precisely shooting me in the head just have insane teenager reflexes, or was he hacking? Or maybe it's all because I have a high latency?

I don't really mind getting beat by people who are better than me. I'm not that good any more. But the fact that the game is crawling with hackers and Activision does nothing about it because by the time it's a problem, a new game is a few months away makes it really unfun.

The fact that new games now have hackers in the fucking beta says everything you need to know. Back in the day, you wouldn't be caught dead with hackers for the first year of the game, until the next game was well underway. BO2 was still alive and kicking up until I want to say 2015 or so, it's only later that hackers completely took it over.

I never like Treyarch games so I always said MWII was fine, and DMZ was killed in on purpose since all the warzone streamers kept saying it was hurting warzone

remember blops?
that was fun

Good old Blops; didn't start playing it until after the hacking started, sadly, but I still remember a TON of good moments on that game. Personal favorite gun was the Stoner 63 with a Red Dot; simple yet effective.

Really, it kinda sucks that all of the older CoDs aren't really available on the current systems, outside of streaming; sure, Ghosts is fun, but the prior CoD games were beloved for a reason. Doesn't help that the games just get worse and worse each year; if it weren't for the CoD kiddies blindly going for the next piece of shit, then maybe Activision would wake up and give the actual fans a reason to play the series again.

It had a story that wasn't complete stupid cringe for nearly modern Cod.
the sequel was a schizo ass fever dream though

Hacking was bad on the PS3. Your average COD was unplayable about 2 years after release, and Activision openly didn't give a shit because they wanted you to buy the new one.

Re: MW2019 and MWII, it's like the difference between a well-maintained McDonald's where everything is fresh and hot, and a filthy ghetto McDonald's where the fries have been sitting under a heat lamp for hours , the Coke is always flat, they're constantly out of napkins, and the buns are stale. They're similar enough to be the same thing, yet everything is shittified on the one to the point where it's completely unpalatable.

It's surprising that, even with Activision's history, the CoD kiddies STILL defend and buy from the company. It's nothing short of absurdity.

That's, uh, a fairly unique comparison. Didn't play MWII all that much when I had it, but... judging from the general talk I've heard about it, I'm hesitant to give it another try. I don't think it's as bad as Vanguard, at least... is it?

MW3 from 2011 is still the best bang for your buck package Infinity Ward has ever put together. A wide variety of single player and cooperation modes and a super addictive survival mode. C'mon Infinity Ward... bring back traditional survivor mode... Enough of this open world bullshit. Oh, and as outlandish as the campaign was... saving New York from those hun bastards was absolutely beautiful.

Any love for MWR? Genuine question; barely anyone talks about it these days, and while I've had a lot of negative experiences with it previously, part of me STILL wants to give it another shot... mostly because I bought it on PSN on sale for cheap, meaning that I'm stuck with it.

I enjoyed it a ton, but didn't play long enough for them to ruin it with supply drop weapons.

The Terminator will be a special guest for Black Ops 6 Season 2.

PPsh from World at War returning will be interesting. That gun was a point multiplier for Zombies back in the day.

Im pretty sure MW2019 was the last CoD with a consistent art direction and "style". Maybe I just care about this more than others but everything beyond Cold War feels like it forgot to color grade and it just makes everything look like shit. I get the impression that they just gave up on giving the base game a tangible "military feel" because the multiplayer would be stuffed with technicolor everything anyways.
also I think the writing, specifically the character dialogue, took a nosedive when Cold war came along but thats neither here nor there.

He's right. Gunsmith in MWIII has more depth than its Black Ops 6 counterpart. I never noticed until I started modifying weapons between games and using them. Many attachments in MWIII with various weapons has pros and cons. Example: you could modify an assault rifle to have the fire rate of an LMG at the cost of mobility and/or recoil. In Black Ops 6, almost all attachments have no noticeable disadvantages for your weapons. If anything, your stock weapons almost feel downgraded without attachments.

I'm at Prestige 6; one of its challenges is to obtain 100 "quickscope" kills with any sniper rifle. Now, you'd have to configure/modify your sniper rifle to have faster ADS and maximum lethality. (No wonder many sniper builds have quicker ADS, that's the Gunsmith or a blueprint.)

The issue with the challenge is that it doesn't explicitly explain what qualifies as a "quickscope." The game doesn't even inform you that you've done a "quickscope." You'd have to figure that out yourself by pinning the respective challenge on the pause screen.

By accident, I think I figured it out. There's a camo challenge for sniper rifles that require you to obtain kills shortly after ADS. I'm using the Longbow where I just unlocked camo progression for "50 kills shortly after ADS." I'm 80% certain that the criteria for the aforementioned challenge counts as a "quickscope." I think shortly after means fully ADS and obtain a kill within 2-4 seconds. Again, it's vague.

Season 2 of Black Ops 6 is here for fifty days, which included another BlackCell battle pass upgrade and a few new maps to play around with.

So, the BlackCell battle pass is $26.99, which you have to use REAL money to buy it, not CoD Points. Assuming BO6 will continue post launch support for five seasons and the BlackCell upgrades cost the same, that's about $134.95 USD for fire coated cosmetics and some CoD currency. Hard pass. I thought you would get a discount for the next battle pass if you bought the last one, but I guess that's incorrect.

I bought Season 1's BlackCell pass from a $25 gift card and $5 of my own money. The fire effects with some cosmetics/blueprints are cool, but the majority of the last battle pass contents I won't even USE. I couldn't get myself to finish my last battle pass tier because BO6 was becoming annoying to play.

Also, what is the lore with the Warzone/season cinematics? Something about Marshall and this pink mohawk haired female being on the Luttazzi family's blacklist from Avalon? News flash, maybe DON'T wear a conspicuous hairstyle if you have a bounty on your head. I thought "black ops" meant covert, hidden.

Folks, does this cause you any concern? It seems troubling and perhaps it may give you second thoughts about playing the game.

Just because they have a patent doesn't mean it's implemented in a product. If your webcam was on while playing COD, somebody would have noticed. I doubt cameras are actually on, though I wouldn't be surprised at all if they're using screen images to catch you doing a racism or train an AI.
