It's a shame really. CoD 2 imo was their best WWII game but also the game that made the franchise popular with normies and thus began it's downfall. The only call of duty that I ever played was Big Red One

The snipers are super slow compared to pretty much every other CoD game, I'm pretty sure it's one of those games where they tried to kill quickscoping too, I don't remember. The L96A1 also sounds like a cannon but the gun fucking sucks, all snipers in BO1 suck really. There's something about Black Ops 1 sniping that feels "heavier." Is it less aim assist? I can't put my finger on it.
When I played Black Ops 1, I never bothered with snipers and just used the Fal with a magnifying optic if I wanted to camp. The snipers are super slow compared to pretty much every other CoD game, I'm pretty sure it's one of those games where they tried to kill quickscoping too, I don't remember. In that context, the "downfall" of CoD with the normie population started with Modern Warfare 2.It's a shame really. CoD 2 imo was their best WWII game but also the game that made the franchise popular with normies and thus began it's downfall.
Damn shame since the first Modern Warfare remains a masterpiece, yet sadly one long forgotten by normies. In that context, the "downfall" of CoD with the normie population started with Modern Warfare 2.
The remaster didn't do it any favors because of its monetization.Damn shame since the first Modern Warfare remains a masterpiece, yet sadly one long forgotten by normies.
I am so glad I missed that, then. As well as every other CoD game since MW, it seems. The remaster didn't do it any favors because of its monetization.
The first Black Ops was cool but that's the last CoD I played.I am so glad I missed that, then. As well as every other CoD game since MW, it seems.
Well, I did play that and BO2, but given what a dumpster fire of mediocrity the BO2 campaign was... blech. Not worth my bandwidth or time to play anything else. The first Black Ops was cool but that's the last CoD I played.
It has gotten better now that weapons are not tied to loot boxes anymore. Well, there are blueprints...I am so glad I missed that, then. As well as every other CoD game since MW, it seems.
All those years of people begging for another WWII COD game just to get WWII and fucking Vanguard was such a bummer. How hard is it to make a good WWII game ffs, even Battlefield fucked it up.It's a shame really. I actually tried picking up MW2019 recently since MWII looks vaguely promising and a bunch of people have heaped praise upon it, so I thought, "Why not?".It has gotten better now that weapons are not tied to loot boxes anymore. Well, there are blueprints...
All the protags are white males so you can't have that. While we're throwing quarters into the water fountain, give me a graphical remake of the OG Medal of Honor. All those years of people begging for another WWII COD game just to get WWII and fucking Vanguard was such a bummer. Side note, considering how much remastering Activision has been doing with Modern Warfare, I wish they would do a updated PC port for Finest Hour and Big Red one, I tried emulating FH a couple years ago but it ran like absolute ass, which is a shame since it was my first ever COD.
The campaign takes itself way too seriously. Its marketing of "ripped straight from the headlines" was that: marketing. Nothing about it was shocking. I don't even understand why Russia has such an uproar about it.I actually tried picking up MW2019 recently since MWII looks vaguely promising and a bunch of people have heaped praise upon it, so I thought, "Why not?".
And fuck me man, the game really wants me to hate it and I haven't even played it yet. Mandatory Warzone install of 83 GB just for campaign? What's worse is apparently the game has been plagued by laggy cutscenes across all platforms for years, and it seems I'm stuck with it too. I mean, they're completely pre-rendered and they couldn't figure out a fix for the damn thing nor did they care enough to squash it in the last 3 years.
Can't really say I'm optimistic about this one.
Easy solution for the wokies, let us play as a gurkha in the Burma Theater. Those guys were hardcore as fuck and were greatly feared, and it'd be in a campaign that as far as I'm aware isn't in any WWII game and is hardly talked about so it's something new, only downside for them is you aren't fighting the evil whitey, but evil Nippon instead (which were way worst tbf). All the protags are white males so you can't have that. I'm one of those, "Why can't we get a game from the Wehrmacht perspective?" Types so you're preaching to the choir.Easy solution for the wokies, let us play as a gurkha in the Burma Theater. Also extra side note, I find it real lame how most WWII games are just either Americans in the French countryside, or Soviets in a blown out Soviet town, rarely do we get deviation from those two, outside of SAS stuff in various locales. It was fun seeing the North Africa campaign in 2 and Big Red One, I loved that mission where you defend the village at night with flares going off and huge groups of Germans coming at you.
Oh I'd also absolutely love a Wehrmacht campaign, but we'll almost definitely never see one since people love to prop up WWII games with "you get to kill le evil dirty Nazis!!". Only game I can think of that has a Werhmacht campaing is Company of Heroes 1, but that was rather short iirc.I'm one of those, "Why can't we get a game from the Wehrmacht perspective?" I'd fucking love a ghurka campaign too, those mother fuckers didn't fuck around.
Vanguard doesn't even have the decency to feature armies beyond "My Team vs Enemy Team", an Axis campaign is never happening.Oh I'd also absolutely love a Wehrmacht campaign, but we'll almost definitely never see one since people love to prop up WWII games with "you get to kill le evil dirty Nazis!!". It's never coming back with how the character system works. Every character is apart of factions and levels in MW19 have dedicated team announcers, but you're still just Coalition VS Allegiance, which are generic fucking names. One thing that I can actually give BOCW with this though is that the factions are NATO and Warsaw, which is pretty cool despite the characters being actually kind of generic. Really the thing that I miss the most are the awesome spawn themes."My Team vs Enemy Team" is so fucking stupid, I almost consider it worse than how you can mutilate guns with asinine attachments.
