Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
So I was fucking around for a half hour this morning and for some reason decided to view the bios for the operators only to notice that like half of them aren't finished. I don't know if it's a PC UI issue or what, but a lot of them just cut off mid sentence.

I also noticed that the Kortac mil sim is listed as being American despite having an eastern European accent, Fender is implied to be Adlers illegitimate son, and Roze is listed in her bio as being with Specgru even though she's part of the Kortac faction.

i'm surprised there's serious discussion about the story when they have a female head of a muslim terrorist organization
like, come on, guys, you know what you were getting

So you know that MWII expansion coming next year? It sounds like it's going to be the full $70. And it's being developed... by Sledgehammer.

For fuck's sake.

The MP for this is fun, but there's not enough content. Now lobbies are filmed with majority level 55 players. Kind of starting to get board. Just unlocking stuff.

As a MKB player, the aim assist controllers have is retarded. You're playing different skill-levelled games with different mechanics. After a few rounds, I knew something was off. Played for a few days. Still noticed how off it all was. Googled and did some research. The aim assist was way more overpowered than I even thought.

Also, it is amusing to see all the npeople who defend it, or deny it exists because they like to think they'd COD gods by being low skill level with the game aiming for them.

Sounds like a skill issue.

Nah the aim assist on controllers is absurd, I plugged in my controller and did slightly better than I did with MKB lol.

I'm not complaining though, for years PC players using MKB have dabbed on console players in crossplay shooters so it's actually nice to see them trying to even things out.

Dude why can't I just play maps from mw2019 on mw2
The game looks exactly same but they couldn't just port maps directly to mw2?

Why would they just port the maps everyone likes from MW2019 when they can charge for them again. Make you pay for them again?

I wish they had the old maps, too. These new maps are too open and random for Me. But Activision will put them out in a DLC pack and charge you for it.

There is no argument for why they couldn't. Cold War was practically a quarter to half maps being rehashes from Black Ops 2 IIRC so expect the same shit to pad out the Seasons until they get to their 70 dollar DLC Year 2.

Season 1.jpg

They're literally releasing what appears to just be a re-skin of Fender as an operator and the two "new" maps are re-releases from Modern Warfare 2019.

They're going to save any decent content for Year 2 70 dollar DLC, aren't they? I've got 1200 points saved over from the end of Cold War, no way I'm wasting it on this shit.

lmao they just announced reskin version of shoothouse and shipment then call it a day
Warzone 2.0 gotta be THAT good huh?

Warzone 2.0 gotta be THAT good huh?
I mean, just about every influencer that has gotten their hands on it has said it gives literal blowjobs to players, and it's the closest thing to feeling loved.

That or, Activision is really banking on it at least earning them a shit ton of money in microtransactions.

Infinity Ward has released a blog post giving a little information on DMZ. I think the most interesting highlight is that picking up a weapon and successfully exfiltrating with it will automatically unlock the base weapon for standard multiplayer and Warzone. You start with one "insurance" slot for a gunsmith or blueprint weapon that you can spawn in with, if you die with that it seems like a cooldown timer to use again that can be reduced by in-game cash. Other insurance slots are unlocked by completing missions for factions. You can also spawn in with weapons previously exfiltrated, which you permanently lose if you die. In addition to faction missions, there are contracts to complete and "world events" that I assume attract multiple player teams to cooperate or compete to complete. Unlocks tied to the mode include XP tokens, various cosmetics, and the M13B Assault Rifle.

I'm very intrigued by this mode because I've enjoyed similar types of gameplay from The Division and Tarkov when I've played them. The limited information provided so close to launch and the lack of any real indication of what extracted items are used for besides a nebulous "we're working on it" at the end of the blog post make me wonder if it's just a half hearted ripoff. Seemingly locking a weapon behind DMZ mode may be a sign they're not confident they'd otherwise maintain a player base. I guess we'll see how well it's implemented in a few days.
