Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

Is there specific map playlists or just a campaign? I can't even remember if I played the MW2 campaign. Which probably means I didn't.

I think Black Ops 2 is still infected with hackers and infections in public matchmaking.

Modern Warfare III is advertising skin/content transfer between MWII and MWIII as a "carry forward" feature. Seriously, we're supposed to applaud Activision for allowing players to use $20 skins interchangeably between their $70 live service products?

Let me rephrase that, if you bought a skin from MWII, you can use it in MWIII. Not the other way around.

I would hope I'd be able to use skins I bought in the same game a year later.
Activision's FAQ with the "carry forward" feature is a confusing read. The gist I got from it was that the majority of content you've purchased from MWII (operators, skins, blueprints) would be usable in MWIII. I mean, it's practically the same game on the same engine. That should be standard procedure.

Example: Vanguard has Snoop Dogg and Raul Menendez on its storefront exclusively for Vanguard. Ignoring the obvious, why can't I use those operators in CW or MW2019? They're running on the same engine; Activision has no problem overloading Warzone assets into your ONE game.

I'm sure this is the exact reasoning people will use for it being a DLC or whatever, so they can use the same backend or something?

Like, on one hand I said that Call of Duty should just be a platform since 2019, and I guess with MW2 being the first "exclusive" for this generation that could be what is going on here.

Buuuuut I'm still going to just say this is them being greedy as fuck and wanting an extra 70 dollars for more sludge from sledgehammer.

It IS greed. Please rationalize to me spending $20 for ONE operator that I would not see when playing the game.

Although if you give me Rita Hayworth, Ingrid Bergman or Marlene Dietrich...

Well, I've got the day off Thursday, so I'll be able to do the live reveal event.
I'm already just convinced I'll bite the bullet and buy MW3, at least call of duty has been treating me better than halo.

It's weird. Call of Duty still manages to be more relevant than Halo, and both franchises have been in the shitter since the early-2010s

Unless I feel like installing windows on my mechanical drive, I'm probably never getting MW3 no matter how it turns out (though i would be lying if I said I wasn't at least a little curious about the outbreak zombies).

I've played more CoD3 online when I had the WW2 compilation. It was certainly an ambitious CoD with the Battlefield esque mechanics and introduction to sprint. Cheesy charm.
