Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

I liked MW3 multiplayer, especially because of the way they changed the killstreak system, you could help the team by focusing on the support streaks.
I actually liked that, too. Also the perk score streaks were a nice mechanic.

For a proper Zombies experience, you'd need all the DLCs as TranZit is a poorly executed map.

I'm one of the few that disliked Black Ops II as a whole. Story was forgettable, Zombies was overwhelmingly complex with its easter eggs, multiplayer is now infected by hackers.
I didn’t even like any of the DLC zombie maps. Die Rise was the absolute worst and Origins was by far the best of the bunch.

Also I wouldn’t say Black Ops 2’s story was forgettable. It was actually pretty memorable, just not that good. Especially in regards to Black Ops, it pails in comparison.

I remember laughing my ass off when the hostage sniper scene with Woods and Mason, you shoot him anywhere else and the model will still act like he got shot in the head

It's amazing how dogshit the last two COD games have been due to sheer laziness and greed. The underlying gameplay is fine minus a few tweaks but the UI, balance, spawns, load times, in your face microtransactions, bugs, glitches, lag, lack of dedicated servers, crashes, freezes, etc so many irritating things that shouldn't exist in a series that has been around this long and is worth millions. I didn't buy MW3 (after being tricked into buying MW2 because of gulag matches), I got it for free and I'm still pissed at it.

I'm still amazed at fucking kids buying Cheech and Chong skins as if they know who they are.

I thought Call of Duty would stop with the yearly releases. That was a damn lie. How dark can they make Ghosts without it being edgy?
That seems to have been the plan but it looks good to investors when they sell a 70 dollar game every year. (even though they get billions from microtransactions)

This year's game is Call of Duty: Black Ops VI/6, 2025's game is another Black Ops title that takes place 5 years after Black Ops 2 (2030).

I agree that they should stop and just keep doing seasons of new content for one game for a few years. But without yearly releases we wouldn't get things like Advanced Warfare in 2027.

I liked Advanced Warfare and I'm a little excited for AW2.

What they need to stop is doing two years of the same series: Modern Warfare 2&3, Black Ops 6&7...two years in a row.

I want to see more things like Ghosts, new cast of characters with slight crossovers between the new subseries and an existing subseries.

Here's an example: Black Ops 8 followed by Call of Duty: Policia, you play as Police Officers

Modern Warfare 4 followed up by Call of Duty: Civil War, you play as a regular civilian who becomes a hardened soldier by the end of the game

What makes you think it's kids and not 50 year old men who buy those skins?
I could hear their voices. Also it's kinda sad that you rarely hear people in a packed lobby anymore on COD, all the trashtalking was enjoyable, now you have an AI monitoring your conversation.

For a short while it seemed like we'd have 3 different COD series rotating with each other, a futuristic one, WW2 and a modern one. Them releasing every year is annoying but it feels like it's only way nowadays to have different competing MP shooter. No UT, no Quake, BF seems to have fallen down, Titanfall is dead except in it's Battle Royale form, etc.

You're also shooting him with a .50 cal BMG, and he somehow isn't permanently crippled. Also, Woods is supposed to be 60 and Mason is 57 in that scene. Having guys old enough to have been involved with the Bay of Pigs also doing black ops in the early 1990s just strained my suspension of disbelief too hard.

Multiplayer in Black Ops II was really good, but I didn't care for the maps. The flat, 3-lane design of Treyarch maps was starting to get a little too obvious. It became a self-parody by Black Ops IV.

Activision, 2014: Wow, this series sure was a success. How about we start raping it to death with mtx and cartoon bullshit?
Activision, 2018: Ack ack ack! We aren't making money! Please, people who made the original game, come back do what made it great! We won't interfere!

There’s actually different animations for if you pop him in the legs or head.

PLEASE GOD PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
Personally, I’d much rather have Infinite Warfare 2.

With everything going on with Ubisoft and CoD, is anybody here going to try XDefiant when it launches? I'm curious to see how it performs.

Tried the most recent beta, for some reason it honestly felt terrible. Really not a fan of the retarded hero shooter abilities either.
