Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

Folks, does this cause you any concern? It seems troubling and perhaps it may give you second thoughts about playing the game.

If this is about AI monitoring, yeah no shit. I drew my line at requiring my phone number to play the game(on PC) with MWII, it's bad enough that something like BO4 requires an internet connection to play and this means the game will die out one day when Activision doesn't feel like paying for it's servers. The moment you start monitoring me when I play my bing bing wahoo is when you don't even qualify for a purchase, I have hundreds of games on my backlog and hundreds more I already own. You're not worth my time.
Just because they have a patent doesn't mean it's implemented in a product. If your webcam was on while playing COD, somebody would have noticed. I doubt cameras are actually on, though I wouldn't be surprised at all if they're using screen images to catch you doing a racism or train an AI.
Webcams are very easily hacked even by script kiddies. If you have one on your laptop or your phone, which most people do, you should just assume it is always recording you, or that somebody is always watching. If the game itself is now monitoring you thru it and using that data to train their AI/sell info to Chinese/potentially report you to the police if you are caught saying wrongthink then that is a cherry on top. Unless you actually use those things, you should ideally disassemble them or at least put some black tape over them when not in use. You might think this last one is something a schizo would do, but no the director of FBI(or was it CIA?) does it for privacy purposes. I would think they know more about this issue more than you, and if they find their own phones potentially spying on them disturbing...what does that say about Joe Everyday whose data is being sold to advertisers everyday?

Hey, remember when XBONE tried doing something like this with Kinect and the moment Microsoft's draconian monitoring policies were unveiled, they immediately lost that console generation on the spot? That was 10 years ago, look at us now.

I bought the pass purely for the PPSh

How is the PPSh? I take it would be more useful in Zombies if we're going by World at War's iteration. That gun would just shred zombies with a train. Now is it me or does BO6's PPsh model look identical to WWII's PPSh?

I had considered loading up MW2019 again to try grinding weapon camos, but I'm hearing there are hackers just mucking about. That and I don't want to install ANOTHER 70 GB+ game on my finite hard drive.

How is the PPSh
One of the best guns in the game, though in zombies it falls off a bit earlier than I'd like, so you want to upgrade it sooner than later. I've actually never used a PPSh in CoD without a 71 round drum before so that's a learning curve.

Whoever created those leaderboard achievements for Call of Duty 3, I hope they're not working in the game industry again.

Five achievements ask you to obtain 200/2000/8000/20000/40000 accumulative points logged into the leaderboards. It's not like CoD now where you'd get 100XP per kill, per capture. Each action (kill, capture, revive, ammo supply) I believe is worth ONE point. So, reaching 40K points, assuming you'd play during its lifespan, means you'd have to consistently play Call of Duty 3 online for many weeks/months at a decent level.

The quickest way to boost is to obtain at least eight players for a Capture the Flag match where two players capture/throw the opposing flag towards a group of players for them to "return" the flag to base. Rinse, repeat.

If the host lags, the netcode would register the "return" multiple times. Now try hearing the announcer spam about the flag being returned/captured for a prolonged period of time.

In some of those early games, the achievements were deliberately designed so only the top players were even capable of getting them. There was a trophy in Killzone 2 that you could only get if you finished in the top 10%/5%/1% of the leaderboards that week, for example. I worked my ass off to get the bronze one, then realized I'd turned a game into a job and quit playing it that very day.

I'm glad that trend has went away around 08-09 AFAIK. Luckily, it wasn't "get to the top percentile of the leaderboards," it was "accumulate a certain amount of points on the leaderboards." Still doesn't help that it's a repetitive grind, especially when the population is non-existent.

Two news that caught my eye: leaked documents reveal that MWIII was planned to have a Halo x CoD crossover where various Halo maps would've been added into Call of Duty.

A UK player managed (A) to get his Activision account unbanned after two strenuous years of legal fighting from Activision. Lengthy blog read about the process, but worth it to get insight on this egregious ban.

I have often wondered why they are so against a re-release of Warzone 1 or 2019 era warzone. Nothing really makes sense to me

>Itll make the new warzone less popular

Fortnite shows it’s not the case

>You can’t monetize it as much as now

Warzone 1 had plenty of bundles, collabs, and battle passes the system from warzone 1 is still the same as it is today

There has to be some MAJOR code bloat or just in general reason why they can’t do it. You can’t just port over Verdansk and act like it’s old warzone. If they were to give us the warzone right before Cold War it’ll save warzone

Fortnite I believe plays the same from its OG rendition. Call of Duty has changed slightly since MW2019. Playing MWIII is different from playing MW2019. Plus, I'd imagine that would inflate the file size even more. Call of Duty exists as a yearly cycle.

I just remembered it, Warzone 1 is built directly into MW2019 thats why its such a struggle to get it back but bringing back a pre cold war 2019 is not exactly bad either

Yes, and they completely screwed up the launcher, battle pass, and leveling up by trying to turn something into a platform that wasn't meant to be one.

im such a MW2019 simp I got recommended a video thats been popping on the algorithm of some guy finding old gameplay he didn't upload. Man im not even blaming activision when all these other shitters fet involved like Raven or Sledgehammer the game just loses its feel. Infinity Ward need full control for us to get a good game again.

I looked up the Coalition's announcer (the Russian faction in its MP). I love that announcer. So stern with the accent.

Captain Price's UK lines, in comparison, feel muted.

Camo grinding is harder than I thought. Back in the day, I've never even acknowledged progressing through camouflages and challenges; it just happened naturally. Kudos for some variety in the challenges, although now I'm realizing they follow the same format.

Doesn't beat GIGN in MW3
African Militia FTW.

Is it weird that I do kinda want to hop back into WWII? I mean, the game's got enough wokeshit in it to give me pause, and there's more than enough bullshit in there to piss me off... but I'm still considering it. Same with the modern CoDs, with the exception of Faguard; I hate the non-generic Operators and the woke crap from 2019 onwards, but I'm still interested in the actual gameplay.

For shits and giggles, I was considering on making my WWII character as woke as possible since I could be a female, Black Axis soldier with LGBT flags on my playercard for one whole prestige.

but I'm still interested in the actual gameplay.
Gameplay in WWII is nothing special. You can dolphin dive, inspect your weapon, customize a character, create an emblem, use health packs in single player. All I could find when I played was Shipment 24/7, TDM (and HC) and HC Search & Destroy.

but I'm still considering it.
I saw a copy of Black Ops on Amazon for $10. I do not have the Shangri-La map pack.
