Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

I have been playing the modern warfare horizon mod at first I loved it but honestly it’s fucking ass. You will never get a classic cod experience shits cancer vs sweats and they added both MW2/3s cancer streaks so nukes are too easy.

Man, Grief is a fucking terrible mode.
An absolute downgrade from BO2 and it's all because of BO6's mechanics, that and no private matches.
I still remember games on Town and Burough where people teamed up for an impromptu 8 player co-op session and we got to ridiculously high rounds. Cell Block was unplayable due to no Jugg however, same with Farm due to no PaP. Shame there weren't more maps for the mode, or hell just a survival map version of these you could play solo(like with Green Run maps).

Grief came back in BO6? I never liked it from BO2. Remember Turned, the mode where you could be a zombie in the Diner map? I liked the idea of it, but it could've been executed better.

Meanwhile, Warzone Mobile is being sunsetted a year after launch. I forgot this even existed. I remember them talking about it after Black Ops 6's launch. I don't even think Warzone Mobile was optimized at launch.

So... what's with the modern CoDs requiring you to verify your email in order to play? Tried to boot up MWIII earlier, said that I need to verify my account via an email that was sent; this hasn't happened before on my end.

Did you ever have an Activision account linked with your PSN/Steam? I don't know how that works. Now, I want to check on my end tonight after work.

I can't describe it, but Black Ops 6 feels like an AI-generated video game. Nothing about it feels human.

I booted both MWIII and MWII on Xbox; I was not prompted to verify an email.

I'm not even surprised, anyone who still plays COD deserves it. These are less a video game and more of a testing environment where they perform experiments on their "players", the white lab mice. I can't even imagine firing up a game like this anymore.

That's because it quite literally is, altho some skeptics in this thread will probably argue against it even tho there is proof floating around. Everything is a conspiracy with these people until it isn't and Activision adm-
Well, would you look at that, the thing that wasn't supposed to happen happened again.

If you want a fairer CoD experience, play ROBLOX and find any shooter clone on there that you like. I'm not even kidding.

Been playing some of the older "new era" cod games, like the first in the reboot of the MW franchise and MWII.
fuck man, these games are rough now. Omnimovement has fucked up my muscle memory so bad, but MWII is so fucking shit lol. Dead, and if you do match, it's just corner camping with dragon breath shotguns every game. It's actually pure aids.
DMZ is also fucked entirely, half the quests are bugged, some require items they removed from DMZ cuz they were bugged and needed "fixed" and never got added back, shotguns got a weird balancing tuning in Season 6 so they One-Shot in DMZ and are complete aids on top of RGL spam, 6 stacks, and cheaters

MW 2019 is still pretty fun tho, lucky if i get a ground war match, but sniping with the AX50 feels nicer than anything Warzone or Vanguard or MWII offer.
ggwp

also the stark visual difference in MW 2019 and MWII 2022 is insane. idk how they downgraded so hard in that small time frame. also same applies to character designs but i think i've bitched about that previously in this thread
just genuinely nuts to me.

I tried DMZ once. I died and lost my loadout. I guess I have to make another one? Could you gather blueprints from DMZ for your permanent ownership?

It's difficult to maintain a 1.0 K/D in MWII. One game you're stomping, next game you're holding your own, next few games, you're lucky if you could get two kills straight without continuously dying.

Eh, after MWII, MW2019 feels floaty to me. Most I would want to do in MW2019 is to complete blueprint challenges, hoping some aren't inaccessible because of empty playlists.

Like, blueprints ala store bundle stuff? Yeah kinda, the weapon cases from bosses plus the "hidden" AK in the Koschei Complex map that you had to collect all the "parts" for, which was just all the skins for the attachments/receiver. I believe some of the quests for the factions gave themed blueprints/operator skins, the main Al Mazrah weapon cases also offered a Konig skin, "biohazard" still do I believe.
If you mean like, custom guns to keep permanently, that is the insurance system more or less.
But yeah, if you die, you lose all your shit on you, cash/keys/killstreaks/guns

I know DMZ had a "secret" gun camo too, Serpentine, but it was super aids to get and even more so now considering one shot shotties and the general balance/playstyle of people.

yeah, I think throughout the whole life cycle and even now I've maintained a solid 1.3 k/d and I'm usually positive even in my bad games, but god it's aids, even shipment 24/7 both core and hardcore is just infested with these rat niggers hiding between containers with dragon breath shotties lmao.

I can't remember how I died. It was out of nowhere.

MWII's Shipment is claustrophobic and depressing compared to the original. You're in the middle of an industrial area with some shipping containers used as cover or flanks. You can still "breathe" where you can see the sky and the outside boundaries.

The original:

1749271897589.webp
Simple, to the point.

Now you have MWII's remake:

1749271953598.webp1749271974755.webp

This doesn't look fun to be in. The higher container stacks actually defeats the purpose of map flow. You feel cramped, trapped, almost in a depressive panic.

At least with MWIII, they had a little more fun in mixing up remixes of Shipment.

Probably an AI, probably a player sniping you since spotter scopes have always been busted and let you see people from super far with thermal that is infinitely better than all of the thermal scopes you can put on a sniper, and the spawns were always fucked especially in from launch up to like, season 4-ish. I lost count of how many literal hundreds of players I sniped right out of a spawn in that period of time lol.
Lots of exploits to get into random locked spaces or under the maps, now, though, so you can just die to some faggot you realistically can't fight and is seemingly "nowhere"

At least with MWIII, they had a little more fun in mixing up remixes of Shipment.
I have yet to play MWIII so I can't really say, but I'll take your word for it. I plan on picking up a copy soonish as I hope Ground War is more alive on MWIII than it is MWII. I miss being able to just sit in the back with an Intervention and plink some niggas 300, 400 meters out.
I originally only skipped out in MWIII because I fell back into playing Tarkov, and a lot of life stuff happened so my ability to actually do a whole lot, let alone play games, was pretty non-existent, but I heard the zombies was kind of okay and that the multiplayer was actually really fun. I do think they did a nice job with remaking all of the original MW2 maps from '09 from what I had seen though.

There’s an ‘09 playlist of the MW2 maps in MWIII. I haven’t played MW2 in years so I can’t say for sure if they’re better or worse.

There’s a copy of Shipment in MW2’s files from an alpha build.
