I was told all reserves are basically people living in huts with no running water, barely any food, basically about to die because we completely starved them off from all resources. And I've seen some rural reserves that sort of maybe meet that but last month I visited one that changed my entire perspective on natives.
I'm not learned enough to provide the proper historic analogy, but rez politics are all bloodlines and nepotism.
There are only a few dominant families. They all compete to get to get their people on band council and admin positions. So that they can embezzle all the resources to their part of the clan.
If that's not a catfish, that reddit poster must have a room temperature IQ to be a woman interested in engineering, but be forced to pay many multiples of international tuition fees to move a continent away from the Carolinas to study fake engineering at a third-rate Northern Ontario community college.
