Canada is a failed state

I almost moved to Canada 15 years ago. Fuck me sideways I feel lucky not to have.

Also well done on Canadians for embracing their British heritage and deciding that the Judge Dreed comics were a model for how to run a country rather than a horrifying parody the authors never thought would come close to real.

They're going to have to figure out how to get all the tradies and couriers in the middle provinces off of ICE vehicles. How do you drive 450km a day to a site and back on a battery? The idea would isolate all the rural and northern communities. There's gonna be ICE loopholes for sure.

Manitoba is like a worse Saskatchewan. The taxes are higher and there are more natives. Everywhere in Canada including the Yukon is having a housing crisis, so I'd recommend not moving to a province with a nearly 40% income tax. Spent some time in Winnipeg years ago and drove through this summer. Everything that was good 10+ years ago closed and there's meth goblin camps everywhere. The city was great in the 1800s and never recovered.

I might not have much of a choice and the income tax is still lower than out here in the east, so it would be better on that front.

Yah, this country is a shithole in regards to that sort of thing. Junkies are out of control in virtually every city. I could go on a rant about that all on it’s own, but it’s probably the most visible sign of decline in Canada these days.

This is our glorious feature delivered to us by the ass eating progressives of yesteryear. A country where nobody but rich foreigners can afford land, low skilled jobs are being taken by immigrant hordes and the streets are awash in junkies.

And some people will say "IF ONLY WE TRIED MORE SOCIALISM"

Everything in the western world is slowly reaching a breaking point. Canada is just speeding towards it. The government euthanizes 10k people a year, housing is unafforable, and if the Libs win another majority we are all going to freeze in the dark. People can tell your Son he is a girl, but if you say otherwise then the government comes after you. People think the states is going to explode, but I think it's going to be Canada.

Cons of annexing Canada:
* it's Canada
* probably have some kind of low-key river war between the Quebecois and the Cajuns down in swamp country at the mouth of the Mississippi river over the language
* more Native tribes to deal with
* constant bickering about the metric system

Pros of annexing Canada:
* some of the leafs are actually allright
* nice place to go during summer if you're from the South (Victoria, B.C. was lovely when I went there in August some years ago)
* poutine

... I'm a fat fuck, so that last one is especially tempting.
You forgot one of the cons of annexing Canada. Never a Republican President EVER AGAIN. NEVER.

Let's be honest with ourselves; if the situation has deteriorated to the point where claiming full ownership of a neighboring nation is on the table, we would already be a dictatorship (or looming closely enough to one that the separation would be academic at best).
Besides, then we'd have to go in and fix Mexico.

American Thinker posted an article about a indo-Canadian novelist who wrote a dystopian novel called Identety Crisis.

Indo-Canadian novelist explores near-future dystopia

By K.M. Breakey

The author T.K. Kanwar lives the Canadian Dream, and he lives it in peace. As a second-generation Indian Canadian, he’s never admonished for his race, nor excluded from opportunity. On the contrary, he’s free to love and advocate for his people.
So why rock the boat when he could quietly live a life of opportunity and splendor? If anything, Kanwar might bolster his status by preaching the evils of white racism, the oppression of Black and Brown People.
Many do.
Not Kanwar.
For whatever reason, he dares to notice reality. Not only that, he’s dared to write a bold and based novel spotlighting the dangerous absurdities steamrolling what’s left of the western world. In Identity Crisis, dual protagonists Sam and Jennifer navigate respective journeys through dystopian wokeness and civilizational decline in Canada and America.

Like Kanwar, Sam’s a successful Canadian man of Indian descent. He works for a large cable sports channel and relishes the fruits of life. However, (also like Kanwar) Sam’s a noticer. He notices hellish subway rides and skyrocketing crime. He recognizes his formerly idyllic way of life is rapidly vanishing.
It wasn’t always like this. Sam fondly recalls a charmed childhood. Memories of Christmas and hockey playoffs and the magical run of his beloved ’92 Blue Jays. More than that, he remembers a Toronto that was safe and clean and high‑trust. It wasn’t long ago.

Meanwhile, Jennifer’s a white liberal New Yorker steeped in Critical Race Theory. She’s so hellbent on saving the world from whiteness, she’s devoted her life to the cause. However, as Clown World intensifies, she encounters the inevitable contradictions of being simultaneously white and anti-white. She begins to question her devotion to a cause that has no place for her.
Spanning a 30-year period culminating in 2031, we witness momentous upheavals in the duo’s personal lives against the larger backdrop of society’s downward spiral. For Sam, the final straw is the unjust firing of his best friend, a white guy. For Jennifer, it’s the savage beating of her white boyfriend -- you can guess by whom.
The novel cleverly intertwines truthful observations -- otherwise known as sanity -- via the Jordan-Petersonesque Dr. Nolan. Taboo issues like anti-whiteness and destructive immigration are fearlessly explored. We’re reminded that immigration without assimilation was once a known danger -- guarding against it was a mainstream position. Nowadays, the very point of immigration seems to be not only non-assimilation but utter destruction of community.

Might be looking to move out of Canada in the next few years. Legislation like Bill C-11/C-18/C-36, the unaffordable housing market, the lack of job opportunities, and the savage renovictions from landlords to line their pockets leaves me with little hope for this country.

There have been countless articles printed out by media about the labour shortage, yet I still have to jump through dozens of recruiters and HR hoops to get a job that pays halfway decent. I have to compete with people who are overeducated with MBAs, multiple undergrad degrees, and employers are requiring these for jobs that don't need them.

I had to work with a MBA graduate in the past month who doesn't seem to understand how to sell his product on a base level. Doesn't understand basic concepts like CAC, marketing mix, advertising copy. All vision 0 skill. How the fuck does that happen?

Then I need to do it all over again a year after because employers don't give raises but keep posting record profits.

I've seen second year university kids who can barely read & write at one of Canada's top schools. Post-Secondary degrees have basically taken the place of HS diplomas, and the Education-Industrial Complex has dumbed down the requirements accordingly in many fields.

There are lots of different forces pushing it in this direction. No student left behind, finance lobbying, too-big-to-fail institutions justifying their bloated public funding, fear from parents that there will be no manual labor jobs for their retarded children, automation, a widespread lack of respect for the lower middle-class and the trades.

A perfect shit storm, all pushing in one direction.

When Canada decided that making things was racist and we sent all out manufacturing to Mexico, the southern US and China. All these manufacturing towns started to throw up Universities to make up for the economic shortfall. The belief was we would be a wise nation of philosopher kings. What it has become is a way to scam immigrants out of tons of money in return for a PR. Every sector of the economy is feeling the crush of Canada's burdensome tax scheme, the only companies that can survive it are already established and have been for nearly a century plus, like the Irvings, Rogers, Bell etc.
We now import what are basically slaves, that people treat like garbage because no one can, or is willing to afford to pay for labour. Also Tim's was always a money laundering scheme, that's why they fought going to debit so hard.

That's an editorial from the Toronto Star, whose readership know little of the world beyond GTA city limits. If they the possess more that two neurons they would know that Atlantic Canada alternates between Liberal and Conservative.

Anyone who's excited about Pierre Poilievre as the next PM should know he's just as enthusiastic on flooding the country with unlimited Asian slaves as Justin Trudeau. No matter how you vote, you're becoming a foreigner in your own home and you're racist if you have a problem with that.

Today one of my friends pointed out to me that there’s no Canadian politician who is there due to actually being qualified; but because of nepotism.

Looking into the Laurentian elite, and it becomes clear as to how incestuous the class really is. Everyone knows each other, regardless of party alliance. You have to be born within the Laurentian Elite to even have any hopes of joining the LPC , NDP or CPC.

Kudos to that MP for telling an inconvenient truth.

Edit: Some are happy to find hidden skeletons in Polievre's closet.

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre was under fire in the House of Common after it was discovered that 50 YouTube videos on his channel included tags associated with a misogynist men's rights movement.
No need to guess they would have give a free pass if it was Justin Castro who said that.
