Unless your family is filthy fucking rich, don't expect to own a house or a condo. The average rent of a 1 bedroom in Brampton (Basically the place most Indians go) is $1800 CDN per month. Minimum wage is around $15 an hour. You can do the math. A one bedroom will have 4-6 people living in there so it's somewhat affordable.
Canada's social services are at their breaking point. I've been waiting over 2 months to get a fingerprint check from the RCMP (Canada's FBI). Don't have a family doctor after 3 years.
It's your choice, but don't expect coming to Canada as some way to make lots of money and own a nice house or whatever. Shit is expensive and getting worse. If you do come as a student, at least your degree is worth something in Canada. If you have some Bachelor or whatever from India, you might as well burn it for warmth.

Yeah I know it's not gonna be all sunshine and rainbows for me. But I'm willing to work my way towards the American Dream (even though I'm going to Canada). I'm still young, and another reason why I'm planning on going there is that I'm hoping that being dropped into a cold, dark foreign country, where there's nobody I know and I'm gonna have to build a life for myself, would toughen me up a bit.

Bro, I've been waiting since 2006 for a family doctor. The "free" healthcare that equates to about 50% of your income in taxes has been past the tipping point for years. Covid just sort of made all of the glaring cracks in the system all the more visible. Be prepared for like 6 to 18 month waits for any sort of procedure, unless you pay out of pocket to go to a private clinic IF your province has them.

Maybe you can go to Alberta. Pretty sure that you won't see too many "padjeets" over there. Or am I wrong? I don't know. Other Indians I know who wanna go to Canada are more intersted in Vancouver or Toronto. An acquaintance of mine told me that Toronto University's website even has an entire section dedicated to Indian students, which is pretty funny to think about.
If worst comes to worst, Yukon is an option too you know.

I do not think you know what you are getting into. If you come to Canada, you will be poor, full stop. There is no great economic expansion, where there are tons of middle class jobs, just laying there for the taking. The current ruling elite is outright hostile to the traditional areas of the Canadian economy, like resource extraction and manufacturing, because making things is racist. You most likely will be driving a cab, and living in a sea-container, that you have to share with 10 other people.
Going the University route is a scam as well. When Canada offshored it's manufacturing, someone decided to open Universities all over the country to create a nation of wise philosopher kings. It has obviously not worked, and instead exists as a way to overcharge foreign students, to the tune of 120k over 4 years, so they can apply for jobs that top out at 45k.
Everything in this nation is designed to extract the maximum amount of cash from you, to keep you economically stagnant. You will be poor by design. The government may smile, and claim diversity is our strength, but you only exist as tax piggy to them. There is a reason why the government keeps putting in consumption taxes, because they know, that there isn't enough people making money to actually tax their income.
Understanding all of that, if you still want to come. I would avoid the north, or any place with lots of natives. They are racist in all the ways the media wishes white people were. The first time I heard the phrase "Curry-Nigger" spoken in the real world was a native guy screaming it at the delivery driver he was trying to rob.

There is no "American Dream" to be had here, especially in the GTA, which is where most Pajeets seem to end up. Taxes are high, rent is high, and employees have no bargaining power for higher wages since your company will simply import a pajeet or chink to do the same job cheaper.

Those with the "American Dream" are the Chinese or Indians with money who couldn't get into the US. I wish you the best of luck but Canada is not a land of opportunity. The places where you might make good money (resource extraction) are basically kneecapped by the current government for "green" causes.
I've made it known I'm getting the fuck out of Canada relatively soon. That's why I'm waiting on that goddamn fingerprint check.
Oh I'm aware, but maybe immigrants have a special way to get a doctor that we lowly citizens are forbidden to access.

Yeah thanks for the advice. I'm still gonna try and find a way to immigrate to Canada, but I'm gonna keep what you said in mind and be more careful about my expectations for what I'm gonna do over there. Besides it's not like I don't have any backup whatsoever. My parents are pretty well off, and while I'm gonna try and be as independent as possible, It's good to have backup so that I don't end up in a hole that I won't be able to climb out of.
Good luck to you too. When you grow up in a country like India, the idea of getting the chance to live in a first world country is something everyone has dreamt of since they were a kid. It's akin to winning the lottery. Heck, considering how much more well off I am than most Indians, even I can't truly put into words what it means to alot of third worlders. So it's easy to get a little too excited about the prospects.
But from what you seem to be going through, I understand that even in first world countries, it isn't always sunshine and rainbows, huh?

Trudeau's cultists just mystify me. With all the evidence to the contrary, they still don't see how utterly awful he is. The sheer amount of scandals, that occured in his first term, would have buried every other PM. They nearly did, with him winning a minority on re-election. An unheard result for Liberal PM's. But there are people who are still ride or die Liberals.
I don't understand the Conservative penchant for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, but at least run people who can generate enthusiasm for you. Canadian's are tired of the Con's rushing to be Liberal lite, everytime they get a sniff of power. That's why that party implodes every twenty years and has to merge with its dissident factions. You'd think they would learn, after it has happened multiple times.

Anarcho-tyranny is enforced in both countries especially Canada. If you beat up a criminal even in full justified self defense you will be looking at a lengthy court battle over the charge of murder. Just take a look at Kyle Rittenhouse. Whereas the police are mostly powerless to do something and face great scrutiny from social media when they take action so they aren't reliable either.
