To be fair, the Bank Of Canada stated openly in their last major communique that "wage inflation" was a huge issue for them to tackle.

TPB had a huge and global non-Canadian following and was top-tier popular on major torrent sites. As outlandish as the plots and evolution of the show are, if you grew up around people like that and hung out with people like that the episodes are not *that far* off the mark. It's not until you see non-Canadians ingest it and think its all 100% absurd and none of it being plausible. Then you're like, hey man... what's so funny eh?

Hell the whole "Underused Housing Tax" is a massive clusterfuck that has a billions exemptions where even if some foreign pajeet rents to a International student pajeet who attends one of the scam colleges they don't have to pay the tax. Also the 2022 tax forms were first extended from April 30, 2023 (regular tax deadline) to October 31, 2023 and now it's April 30, 2024.

With how busy accounting firms during that time of year, it will likely be extended again.

Tangentially related: I am having a very hard time finding a pharmacy that is not primarily staffed by individuals with a tenuous grasp of the English language. I have a lot of experience with interpreting those with very thick accents, but it is getting to a point where they are having a hard time understanding me. Trying to inquire as to why a certain medication wasn't covered by the insurance cunts has taken upwards of an hour and a half, being transferred to numerous members of the staff. I didn't end up getting a satisfactory or even remotely useful answer until I went in person and demanded to speak to the pharmacist in charge through gritted teeth.

Imagine if you are one of those people who actually sticks around and asks them questions about their new medications. This fundamental breakdown in communication is going to get a lot of people killed or left with severe permanent injuries.

It's just strange to me as someone who watched the OG series run on late night specialty cable in the era where Netflix was still a DVD mail-order service.

Sort of like Kenny vs Spenny to a lesser degree.

Kenny and Spenny sure are looking rough present day though, which marks the passage of time.

Supposedly Kenny invested his money well, married one of the reasonably attractive female guests on the show, bought a bar and is essentially retired.

Spenny supposedly is an even bigger sperg than he was on the show, got divorced during the show's run, did zero work behind-the-scenes on the show itself, the show's staffers couldn't stand him, became destitute, lives near Kingston, plays bass in a band dressed up like "rockstar smoking Turkish cigarettes" on the show.

Spencer Rice is apparently so hard up for money that Kenny still trots him out on an annual basis to be humiliated at live shows to pay the bills.

Spenny would probably be a lolcow if anyone actually cared.

TORONTO (Reuters) - The dream of making it big in Canada is turning into a battle for survival for many immigrants due to the high cost of living and rental shortages, as rising emigration numbers hint at newcomers being forced to turn their back on a country that they chose to make their adopted home.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has made immigration his main weapon to blunt Canada's big challenge of an aging and slowing population, and it has also helped fuel economic growth. That drove Canada's population up at its fastest clip in more than six decades this year, Statistics Canada said.

But now a reversal of that trend is gradually taking hold. In the first six months of 2023 some 42,000 individuals departed Canada, adding to 93,818 people who left in 2022 and 85,927 exits in 2021, official data show.

The rate of immigrants leaving Canada hit a two-decade high in 2019, according to a recent report from the Institute for Canadian Citizenship (ICC), an immigration advocacy group. While the numbers went down during pandemic lockdowns, Statistics Canada data shows it is once again rising.

While that is a fraction of the 263,000 who came to the country over the same period, a steady rise in emigration is making some observers wary.

Please. For every pajeet that leaves there's a hundred more waiting to take his place. And that's not going to change, because no matter how bad life gets in Canada it's still infinitely better than life in the giant open-air sewer that is India. Also, I bet most of those emigrants are not foreigners but Canadians who are able to get off this sinking ship.

your missing the problem

It's not the fact that people are leaving that bugging the Liberals, it the kind of people who are leaving.

Canada has always suffered "brain drain" to the states. Anyone who wanted to make actual money or build a real life fled to the US the second they could. Now it's getting much much worse, not only natural Canadians are fleeing but the high level immigrants the Liberals are counting on to make society work are also fleeing to the US.

Sure we have more Pajeets and Philippians then you can shake a stick at but something like 80% of them are unskilled labour. The skilled labour that Canada managed to attract, mostly doctors because of the dire need, last about 10 seconds after their citizenship is completed. Then they're off the t he US to earn real money. This is something the Liberals will not talk about nor do they have any solution other then to import more in a vain hope to out pace the flood.

Part of the real issue facing Canada have been around for 50 years but it's only recently that those issues have really come home to roost.

Canada is pretty much done as a first world country, it will be less then a decade before the cost of borrowing outpaces the ability of the government to pay just the interest, let alone the principal. The only thing left for that is taxes, even more taxes. GST boost, PST boost, Income Tax boost and Corporate Tax boost. Which of course will cause a tail spin as there is less money to go around so the economy shrinks, causing less tax income so taxes go up causing less tax revenue and so on until Canada is just another Greece.

I've said this so many times to so many young people but if you can GET OUT OF CANADA. Do what ever it takes to move to the US as the States will be the last refuge to crash before the Dark Ages come again. GET OUT, GET OUT NOW.
