Canada is a failed state

While we're on the subject of Vancouver, just Google earth some street images of that place and no, I don't just mean the 'east side'. What the fuck did I just scroll through? I wasn't expecting the city to look like that. It looks partially deserted, run down and poor. And that's coming from someone in Ontario.

I've google earthed Calgary for example and it looked clean and modern.
Calgary's streets are freakishly clean to be fair, it always gets brought up when I mention I'm from there. The entire city's road network gets swept up every year, the giant placards telling neighbourhoods when they need to move their parked cars is the definitive signal that winter is finally over.
Pleeeeeeeaase for the love of God let this finally be the start of accelerationism. The feds know they have nothing whatsoever to lose over the next two years and are probably going to go ideological scorched earth, if they're going to do something legitimately mid-1770s-Britain-level retarded this is the time for it.

A question for everyone in this thread. Has Canada cross into the point of irreparability?
Anything can be repaired. The real question is, should you stick around and put in the effort to better the place for the people who fucked it up to begin with- if given the option of leaving?

No.

If Canadian culture doesn't exist, as the government tells me it doesn't, and my history doesn't exist, as the government tells me it doesn't, then why not move south to the US?

Mark my words, when the crunch comes, then the government will try to call on 'traditional Canadian values' that its spent the past decade spitting on and calling racist.

That crunch may be coming soon when the time comes for Canadians to renew their mortgages and decide to walk away from them because they can't afford their homes. Given how the Canadian economy has been increasingly reliant on both real estate speculation and mass immigration to keep the Ponzi scheme going, it's massive disaster waiting to happen.

Stephen Harper may have been a globalist, but his premiership was at least a symbolic victory for western Canada in that the West was finally "in" (borrowing from the old Reform slogan). Of course, the Laurentian elite that included the public sector, unions, media, etc. hated him and worked tirelessly to undermine him. The Liberal Party of Canada tried and failed to depose him with Stephan Dion and Michael Ignatieff, and failed miserably. The LPC then elected Justin Trudeau as leader in 2013 and won a majority government in 2015, which eventually became the revenge of the Laurentians who sought to dismantle Harper's legacy.

Unfortunately for the country, the Laurentians went all in on the woke nonsense to create their own post-national dystopia that stripped what little remained of Canada's identity away. All that remained were meaningless platitudes meant to mollify the terminally insecure left whose only real identity was their anti-American chauvinism. It may have worked to the first half of Trudeau's premiership, but the first cracks appeared during SNC-Lavalin scandal. Of course, the media half-hearted covered it and Trudeau could do no wrong in the eyes of his personality cult. Since then it has been a slow drip of scandals and with him only ever managing to cling onto power with minority governments in 2019 and 2021, and depending on a craven Jagmeet Singh to rule as a de facto majority.

2023 appears to be a turning point. Affordability and housing are now at crisis levels and the Liberals acted much too slowly. They would not even reacted at all if Pierre Poilievre hadn't been making noised for the past year. Their only solution is same failed policy that got us into their mess in the first place: throw money at it and hope that it goes away. Trudeau spent so much time dividing the country that Quebec nationalism is surging and western Canadians are seriously discussing secession from the country. His egregious double standards and imperious attempts to subvert provincial jurisdiction damaged national unity--possibly beyond all repair--to the point where I don't even identify as Canadian anymore.

Given that the polls have given Poilievre's Conservatives a massive lead; the latest Nanos poll shows that the CPC has a 19-point lead over the LPC, who could possibly return to third-party status as what happened under Ignatieff. Trudeau, the LPC, and even the legacy media are undergoing a meltdown that makes Chernobyl look tame. A common refrain from the Liberals is that Poilievre is bring American-sytle politics through anger and fear, when the very purpose of making those claims are to scare Canadians into remaining in their camp. They and their media lackeys jump on Poilievre for every (perceived) misstep such as his questioning the PM on the Rainbow Bridge accident when it was assumed to be a terrorist attack. The media took it further when he took a reporter to task on her asinine question.

What the Laurentian and media establishment fail to realize is that Canadians are simply sick of Trudeau. So what if Poilievre lied? Stop the presses! A politician lied! They weren't half as bothered by Trudeau's flagrant lies over the last eight years so why should I care if the leader of the opposition does it too? You don't necessarily have to like a politician to vote for them. The twin problems for the Liberals is that the Trudeau brand is now poison to the electorates one and the fact that Trudeau IS the Liberal Party. He spent much of his premiership purging the party of moderates and replaced them with fellow ideologues and sycophants.

The party's best chance to hold onto power is to force Trudeau to resign, but he won't because is a narcissist with delusions of grandeur and importance. He still believes that he is the infallible Sun King of Canada will thus never deviate from his current course so I don't see him as able to reverse his decline. It's entirely plausible that Canada will see similar results to this year's elections in Argentina and the Netherlands. However, it requires a complete dismantling of the Laurentian apparatus to repair the damage Trudeau and his cohorts caused to this nation. Sadly, there are too many leftist die hards who would sooner see the country destroyed out of spite than have it handed to their ideological enemies.

That will only result in Chrystia Freeland replacing him and she is just as bad as him.

If only Freelands Ukrainian SS Grandfather actually did his job as a father. I would rather have him leading the country.

The blackpill is that even if CPC wins nothing will change. Look at their policies. Oh boy one less carbon tax meanwhile our industries still decay and every populated area is filled with millions of worthless pajeets a year.
Cool let the cities burn, I'm able to sustain for myself any my family are you?

It will be good to see Trudy go but between the lines it looks like the CPC has yet even more favorable policies twords immigrants and immigration. For example, they want to rubber stamp anyone who shows up at the border with a pile of papers claiming to be a doctor to be given a medical license and do away with re-certification. If anyone saw the kind of completely insane scam artists who show up at the border claiming to be doctors, scientists, engineers, etc. making proofless claims of experience and education this idea alone should be enough to deep six any candidate. You want to lie about one single thing to the CBP at the American border you get a lifetime ban. Defy their ban and show back up and you'll be hanging out with the likes of MS-13 while they process your deportation and consider charges. You lie to Canadian immigration and customs, they'll invite you to just try again later.

Casual racists, some of the biggest optimists in the game seem to hope this is like a dinner table situation where PP and the CPC leadership are as racist as they are but they just can't say anything out loud in polite company because then they won't get elected. Once they gets elected though... boom... armbands and cattle cars! I don't think that's in the cards, gents. Unless it's for the anglos.

Ultimately the CPC will serve the same vague anonymous ruling class of Canada just like the LPC. New faces, new taglines, same shit. But one thing for sure - the banks will be let off their leash and have fun preying upon the most indebted and soon to be the most desperate people in the developed world. After enjoying the wreckage brought by Trudeau's socialist policies, you will get to enjoy the rugged individualism and 'all your fault' flavor of conservative responsibility. Just without the freedom conservatism typically promises (I shudder every time PP says 'freedom' ). Freedom to do what? Get a BA, make 100k/yr and get pushed out of your job, your home, and then live in your car because the CCP/triad and pajeet landlords say you are a single income earner and that's too risky? Happening all over the GTA and GVA right now as we speak.

This is one of the biggest fundamental problems with Canada today: Canadians of all stripes are more concerned with the paint job on the exterior of the house instead of the settling foundation or the termites infesting it. I partially blame it on the failures of the Meech Lake and Charlottetown Accords because the federal and provincial governments gave up of making any constitutional changes because how acrimonious the process was. Granted, it was fraught since the days of Pierre Trudeau as he always wanted to consolidate power into Ottawa, only to face pushback from the premiers. There is a pervasive naivete among all the parties that believe that reform can come from within the dilapidated system.

For the left and Laurentian elite it has always been increasing centralize power to the federal government and expanding the size of the bureaucracy. Meanwhile, the right has leaned towards tax cuts and deregulations, but fails time and again to address many of the overarching issues that are driving the crises gripping the nation. In this case, immigration, which has become feedback loop. There are not enough homes and house prices/rents are too high. We need to build more homes, but there are not enough workers in constructions thus we need to import more foreigners regardless of qualifications. Yeah, but how are we going to house them in a shortage?

There's someone I run across on X who loves to claim that progressivism is baked into Canada's political DNA. He also makes the claim that Canadians are the most educated electorate in the western world. Well, there is a difference between intelligent and being "educated" as most Canadians lack the capacity for critical thought in the social media age. While Canada is a settler state that has historically relied heavily on immigration, the current approach is simply not working and the Canadian government and people refuse to adapt to modern realities.

I am more than able to sustain myself.

That said, I do not see a future in this country. I've seen too much real estate in the neighborhood be bought by people with 0 care for anything except money. The sort of people that show up to purchase are douchebags who see this is as a judicious investment. The more distance between me and these people, the better. Why stay if I can get a job somewhere else, make more money, pay less tax for broken services, and not be in god awful weather?

This is not good business, and the productivity of other areas of business suffer as people are not motivated by current wages. After all, a lot of their money goes to make some rich douchebag more money for just owning something, in addition to making the rich douchebag owning their workplace more money. Importing pajeet slaves to work minimum wage jobs won't fix the problem either.

Canada not only has a housing problem, but it has a problem incentivizing actual business. The Canadian economy keeps shrinking in spite of the batshit amount of immigration. Canada is in a recession in all but name and faced with many difficult decisions that won't just be building more houses.

This is a little bit off topic to the more serious matters being discussed in this thread. But I was talking to my boomer dad a few days ago and he started talking about Olivia Chow.

He mentioned something about Jack Layton actually dying of AIDS or developing a secondary cancer associated with people with AIDS which is why they never revealed the "new type of cancer" he died of. The thing is, back in 2011 despite me being politically apathetic I thought the cancer never being named was a bit unusual. Jack was fond of Asian women and sex parlors and got arrested for sleeping with or getting hand jobs from prostitutes apparently more than once.

He also talked about how they both lived in public housing in Toronto despite making 100k a year in 1990. Which was either illegal to do or just damn unethical.

I see Olivia Chow decided to bulldoze the latest church homeless encampment in her city. Kind of at odds with her and her dad husbands faux left of center politics, don't you think?

I don't live in toronto but this woman, her history and her dead husband seem shady as Hell.

I imagine that is because the federal government has a history of pressing its finger on the scale to force the market to go in the desired direction. For example, federal legislation is demanding a minimum quota of electric vehicles be sold by manufacturers/dealers. The federal government is "investing" $31 billion in battery plants for Stellantis and Volkswagen, but let's call it what it is: corporate welfare. Problem with that is many auto manufacturers are scaling back EV building because the consumer demand simply isn't there, but that won't stop Trudeau and his idiot friends from trying to force Canadians to buy them.

Would you want to start a business in an environment where the government is going to tax and regulate you into oblivion if they don't like what you're doing? This kind of climate also throttles innovation because the government believes that it can choose winners.

Remember that episode of The Simpsons where they film the Radioactive Man movie, and there is a running gag where the town keeps introducing new taxes to nickle and dime them? That is Canada as a country, we devalue out dollar, so Americans will build things here. Which has made us lazy and inefficient and most of all unproductive as a nation. While our Government overlords are hellbent on stealing every dollar anyone has.

I can get addicted to free fentanyl, then be state executed when I beg for sweet release. Yeah, I think it’s too late. No one here cares enough.

It was Kensington market, I’ve been there before. It was surreal seeing the headlines.

There is also a big fire, apparently, but that’s all they’ll ever say officially. I suspect people didn’t want to leave, burn em out. These people are ghosts they don’t care. These people in power are some of the most heartless and cruel out there.

“Hero my rame is oviva chowww. Immm shroo happy you hav mad me China female leader of da great and posprus Ca na da.”

The Chinese have infested our real estate market, they have invested in vacant lots to hide laundered money. Just saw a report that major downtown cities are facing 17% to 35% vacant spaces in their office areas.

Catching up on the thread.

Mark Friessen is the number 2 PPC candidate with name recognition right after Maxime.

I'm as anti-COVID BS as they come.

The irony was a little unnerving though when Friesen disappeared from Twitter for months because he got COVID so bad that he got put on a ventilator and was medievaced from Saskatchewan to Toronto.

Montana's incredibly expensive these days. Bozeman has been referred to as Boz-Angeles for quite a while now. I think it's southern neighbor Wyoming is more affordable option... but unless you like raging winds blowing against you 24/7, there really isn't much that the state has going for it other than Yellowstone.

Matt Christiansen of Matt&Blonde podcast fame has some crazy footage last year from Bozeman.

He went to an outdoor open mic Jan 6th vigil with some friends. When it was his turn with the mic, he talked about the importance of due process. The crazy boomers didn't even let him finish his two minutes and called the cops on him for trespassing at their outdoor event on the steps of public property.

“Fuck buddy, how’d I get back to timmies” most relatable thing yet.

Doesnt sound like a big deal but is sure as hell helpful when you are illegal in the country...
I wonder how many of the fake names used came from the recent Windsor-Chatham Kent Hospital records hack?

Should ban Christmas and call it the Hanukkah Holidays only so the majority of retarded Canadians finally learn who truly rule over them.
