I have recently been contemplating pathological altruism and how it applies to the Canadian psyche. This government definitely promotes the needs of those outside of the country to the detriment of its own citizens through unchecked immigration and climate policy, though I see it as making taken a darker turn. There is little doubt that Canadians can be generous, but that good nature has been exploited a narcissistic elite to manipulate and coerce the populace into accepting harmful policies.
Have concerns over whether our infrastructure can handle the stress placed on it by government immigration? You're a racist KKNazi if you dare question the "acceptable" narrative.
Have questions if the carbon tax and net-zero goals the federal government imposed are having a tangible effect on the global climate? You're a denier that wants to see the world burn for profit.
Question the ongoing war in Ukraine or why were spending exorbitant amounts of money when Canadians are struggling? Shut up, or you're a pro-Putin stooge paid by the Kremlin to undermine the Ukrainian struggle for Freedom™.
We have seen it action during the pandemic where governments at all levels browbeat Canadians into compliance by telling them that they were killing Grandma if they refused to mask up or take the vaccine and boosters. What truly chills me to the bone is that the left in this country feels that they a justified in everything they do because of their delusions of grandeur. They actually believe that they are saving the planet and the rest of us from ourselves through their magical thinking. These Brownshirts/Red Guards believe that they can force you to do whatever they want under threat of violence because history is on their side.
There is little question in my mind that this nonstop narcissistic abuse has led to increased anxiety and depression in the general populace. Similarly, more Canadians are losing or have lost trust in our institutions because of this government's wanton disregard for individual rights. Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Party of Canada are clearly succumbing to their paranoia and lost touch with reality as they claim that the Conservatives brought American-style MAGA politics to Canada. No, it was Trudeau who imported that brands of politics with his divisive rhetoric and is now reaping the whirlwind he has sown, but don't expect him to take responsibility for his part. He was always a trust-fund brat whose daddy used his wealth and political clout to protect him and his brothers from the consequences of his actions.
This "weaponized altruism" has warped the Canadian spirit into something truly unrecognizable. It demonstrates how the left in this country are not only dimwitted and gullible, but also actively malevolent.
