Canada is a failed state

Rate me rainbows, but everyone in the LPC other than terminal narcissists like Justin have to be shitting themselves. Barely winning an inner-city Toronto riding by the skin of their teeth is a portent of doom. As I post this, the margin has decreased to about 4%. Half the margin of the worst LPC failure in decades. At risk of being a broken record, if anything counts as a 'Pyrrhic victory' in Canadian politics, this is it.
Fingers 🤞they end up losing the riding.

I’ve been saying it, Trudy’s only real hope of clinging onto the PM’s office would be if he managed to keep the Panhandle. If the LPC are nearly losing in their strongholds in the Panhandle, it bodes ill for what the election will look like if Trudy and his Yes Men really put it off another year.

My fellow Leafs may largely suck, but under Trudy it’s like watching a faulty pressure cooker - eventually somethings going to blow.

PV=nRT is no joke fam. Up the temperature by stoking divisiveness, then up the population by immigration, keep the number of houses/living spaces constant, and you certainly have a country under quite a bit of pressure.

They had pretty much every liberal cabinet minister out to drag it over the finish line.

In some ways this is ok. A loss might have meant Trudeau steps down, and some other hack could try to distract people… this way Justin can be the face of failure when the election actually happens.
I would rather have another Kim Campbell defeat of the Conservative party.

Oh my.

I genuinely thought the libs were going to squeak by here.

They have erected an echo chamber around themselves, I wonder if anyone is listening to the klaxon sirens going off here.

I could be wrong, but I think they are going to keep him around until the election. Anyone they put in his place would just be Kim Campbell'd at this point.
As an added point to keeping Trudy in charge, disastrous as it would be for the LPC - do they really have anyone to replace him with? Freedland might as well be radioactive just by association, but beyond her I can’t off the top of my head name any Liberal MP’s who aren’t Trudy’s Yes Men.

Either the Cons are winding up with a Super Majority come next election, or the LPC are going to be in the basement while the NDP takes second party status for a while. Barring the funnier option and the PPC proves everyone calling it the Protest Vote wrong.

The rumour has always been that fellow WEF globalist central banker Mark Carney is permanently waiting in the wings.

The good news: Mark Carney has all the charisma of an Ignatieff/lizard love child. His is the power of the faceless back room, he has never done actual public-facing politics and it shows.

In interviews he just says the quiet part out loud about what globohomo is doing because he thinks we are too stupid to understand, we’d love it if only we could get it through our thick skulls.

Maybe five or ten years ago Canadians would have been dazzled by a Canadian who ran Canada and UKs central banks, these days that’s a resume item that will generate a pitchfork-wielding mob.

I personally would love to see Freeland get the Campbell treatment, because she deserves the humiliation

While few and far between, I have actually encountered some IRL avowed & unapologetic Trudeau lovers.

In contrast, I don't think I'm even come across anyone who has anything nice to say about Freeland even online.

I can't say I disagree. We're talking about a person who openly weeps on the news when she can't get her globalist neo-liberal trade deals done.
She's either being manipulative or emotional here. I used to think she was being overly emotional, but after the last decade under the Liberals, I lean toward this being a manipulation tactic. After all, this is the person who told people to cancel Disney Plus during a housing shortage to make ends meet:
It's hard to imagine her possessing any kind of genuine empathy.

As a last Lul on the By-Election - CBC and City TV both have videos on Youtube covering the results.

The CBC have the comments turned off, and City TV’s Comments are currently roasting the shit out of the Liberals or being surprised Toronto did something nice for the rest of Canada. Either City TV doesn’t give a shit, or they can see which way the wind is blowing for the Libs - the CBC get so much govt funding that no ones surprised those comments are off.

Also as a last thought - didn’t the new Capital Gains tax take effect today? Wonder if that had any effect on this election, considering house prices in Toronto…
