Canada is a failed state

Also I've seen the cope that Canada will trade with the EU to stick up to America. But would trans-atlantic trade really compensate against trading with your neighbor right next door?
I will continue to make the point - the Canadian governments at all levels have to think about the long term economic health of the country and all governments in living memory have failed at that.

Reality, you need to cultivate multiple markets for your good particularly commodities such as form the bulk of Canadian exports (oil, lumber, natural gas etc) and it take decades to do that and build the infrastructure to do so.

Believe me, the Euros are not lining up to kiss Canada's butt, and when they suggest a good idea, the response of fools like Trudeau is "there is no economic case for that".

Government should not be doing this, but rather enabling and encouraging it and making sure that the private sector has reliable regulatory regimes, sensible laws, competitive taxes and reasonable environmental constraints.

Trudeau in particular has failed spectacularly in all dimensions of this and guess what...surprise, surprise, surprise....we are a single market player, we are loaded down with regulations, taxes, and barriers to enterprises.

Failure after failure mark Canadian governance, right along with Canadian entrepreneurship, witness the Nortel and Blackberry fiascos.

So, now, after decades of this, NOW they want us all to wrap ourselves in the flag and fight for Team Canada..

Not me, not ever.

I am hoping and praying Canada finally falls apart and the pieces go their separate ways, hopefully to find a better set of structures, whether that be joining the USA or making several smaller nations.

D.

The EU just wants Canadian timber and oil. I'm fine with that, but that ain't happening lol.

Still, if Trump pushed Trudeau to drill for oil with gusto finally-

Trump will pressure eu to drop Canada in a heartbeat. Canada has no fucking options except joining Russia or China.

Imagine that.

I'm just wondering how they plan to transport everything to Europe. Do they thing tankers and cargo containers will just spring into existence, or that the existing ones used by Chinese and Russian sources will ditch their old cargo and ship Canadian stuff? Or do they think they can get the current trains and trucks transporting everything to make a Jesus miracle?

The type of economic integration that some retarded Canadians are summoning out of thin air require decades of logistical and infrastructure planning and implementation which Trudeau flatout said, "no business sense."

Yeah, we are alone here.

Sorry, Canadian frens. I wish you weren't ruled by spoiled children who aren't tard wrangled; and by mad oligarchs in a deep government who want to watch the world burn. But alas, my prayers are with you. Yes, even if some of you are atheists who who curse Jesus - fuck you, you will receive my prayers. Lolz.

With all seriousness, keep your head held up high. I know shitlibs love saying "Canadians are nice version of America, who aren't rule by psychopaths". Yet I see now we'll see, as this will be the ultimate litmus test for that saying.

These potentially devastating tariffs will take effect on Tuesday and remain in place until Trump is satisfied Canada is doing enough to stop the flow of fentanyl into the U.S., the government official said.
Which is reasonable. Stop letting your territory be used to flood the USA with drugs and Migrants. This wasn't even an issue ten years ago. But I suppose that would require Ottawa to admit its boneheaded immigration policy was boneheaded. Guess they were counting on similarly permissive behavior in Washington DC.

I bet if someone in the Coalition had gone down to DC and laid out some sort of plan for tightening up the Canadian side of the border this could have been avoided in the first place. But too my knowledge nothing was done on the Canadian end to deal with the threat from Trump.

The Liberals have two choices

1. Deal with Trump and try to work around what he wants in the hopes the tariffs get lowered. I don't think Trump will drop the Tariffs entirely no matter what but he could reduce them down to more tolerable levels.

2. Act like complete morons and declare a trade war on the US because Orange Man bad and finish the destruction of the Canadian middle class to appease their ego's and spend the next 8 months ruling over the ashes of a country. After all they're all rich people whose money are in US banks, whose stocks are US companies and whose children are educated in the US schools and the Liberal have about a 0.0000002% chance of getting re-elected thanks to the last 12 years of utter mismanagement.

So what with the Liberal and Trudeau's track record so far which do you think is the more likely option they will go with?

Best of luck to Canada. Hopefully if your economy goes to shit your resident New Canadians might look for greener pastures. I want Trump to tariff Yookay into oblivion next. The whole Anglosphere needs the strongest possible dose of economic chemotherapy to drive out the cancer that's taken root. I'd rather be dirt poor amongst my own kinfolk than see my homeland colonised by the parasitic, child-raping dregs of the world.

And there it is, CBC reporting 25% tariffs on "virtually all goods" implemented and taking effect as of Tuesday with the Sock Boy to give a national address at 6PM EST. Oil and gas is also included at 10% with no indication there's a delay on its rollout either.
Shame the Keystone XL Pipeline got shut down because of whining from Natives and Environmentalists. If that had been in place Texas would have been screeching right now about this. All the refineries on the Gulf would have felt the pain. But alas. That is not the future that was chosen.

We are so fucked it's not even funny. We have a PM and a Liberal party that above all, hates us. We have Boomers braying for blood, full in the grip of terminal TDS cheering on the destruction of the country.

For some reason people think we have a chance. That we can do more damage to an economy 15x larger than ours, and someone will save us. Canadians have gotten lax with hiding behind the Americans for 80 years. They don't understand how the world works, how everyone is out for themselves.

Oh well, I wanted to lose a little weight anyway and the probable famine is as good an excuse as any.
