As a leaf I'm conflicted between whether to be pissed at trump for stabbing us in the back or be pissed at our government for letting this shit happen and not preparing for the day of the rake a decade ago
I'm more pissed at our government. Trump made his reasoning very clear, and even if you think it was unreasonable it would've been better for Trudeau to comply but fight it in courts then to double up so the people feel the pain.

Could trump crush Canadas economy so hard they can’t fund their “free” healthcare. it would take away the one thing canadians brag about.
or will they print money like Zimbabwe to try and maintain it.
if I were a Canadian Dr in that situation I’d just move to America and get paid more.

I'd disagree about the "Trump made his reasoning very clear" re: the tariffs, especially with round 2 of implementation after the one month delay.

Trump's "will he or won't he" implementation of the tariffs seems capricious and completely reported in media soundbytes.

At various times, he's used the excuse of fentanyl smuggling, illegal immigration, national security, foreign influence from China, trade deficit imbalances, longstanding Canadian protectionist tariffs on things like dairy and vacuum cleaners, eliminating income tax, repatriating American jobs and factories, etc.

The original one month extension was granted on the basis that Trudeau rented some drones to patrol the border and made some funding pledges re: border security. Everyone then immediately went back to sleep in Canada for 4 weeks other than some virtue signaling about buying fake Canadian brands and some booing the Star Spangled banner at hockey games.

If Trump has been so clear what SPECIFICALLY Trudeau and the feds failed to do over the last 30 days that was agreed upon in the last round of last minute negotiations, I sure haven't heard it.

Over the weekend, Trudeau and Poilievre were much more concerned with making pro-Ukraine PR statements than they were that last month's tariff ceasefire was about to break down.

Both are to blame

That being said if any CIA glowniggers are reading this (which of course there are) send me a 50 cal mounted gun on a Toyota Hiluxe and I will gladly bum rush Ottawa (like Al Julanis forces bum rushed Assad’s forces)

We taking bets on if Trump calls Canada the 51st state and Trudeau the Governor at the State of the Union tonight?
I would consider it an indicator of his plans. If he was serious and was making a plan he would realize that it would be easier to annex individual provinces one at a time, with Alberta and Danielle Smith being the state and governor he mentions. If he calls all for Canada the 51rst state then he is either not serious or hasn't planned much yet.

That would be a wild card. If Trump was to make a sweeping policy statement of incorporating Canada, it would be at the State of the Union. But it's hard to say if he's actually serious about it rather then just bullying Trudeau.
