The most disturbing truth that has been realized this election is that Canada has become fully "South-Americanized".
There's really two types of contemporary economic leftism, traditional 20th century unions/worker rights/living wage worker-based leftism, and welfaremaxxed failing state money printing bribe ethnic groups to vote for you type leftism. With the total collapse of the NDP it's clear that the productive worker-based style of economic leftism is completely dead in Canada, and even the weak unions that are left shill for mass third world migration to lower their members' wages. Going forward the third world hyperinflationary style of economic leftism will be the norm in Canada. Unions and workers rights will not come back and will be degraded further.
In many areas of Canada you have gone from places that voted NDP for worker/union reasons or Conservative for social reasons, filled with useful blue collar workers that just wanted to be productive, to places that vote for Liberals, all because their economies are so fucked either from government decisions or market failures that they want the government to turn on the money printer to bail them out. All of the natives are like this, all of the maritimes are like this, the cities have high unemployment and are now like this too as well, and every fractured ethnic tribal group the Liberals have imported will be like this. The cost of printing to keep all these groups happy will be immense.
With this type of economic policy, there's little incentive for productive workers to stay in Canada. They will either pay for it through the devaluation of fiat currency, or be taxed to death. And because they get zero quality social services despite paying for the system, only the most loyal slaves will stay. With no increase in productivity, you cannot print your way out of the decline Canada is facing.
This situation has played out before in South America over the last several decades and the results in Canada will be similar.
- The upwardly mobile middle and upper-middle class will leave the country as it declines
- The poors will vote for more largesse from the treasury
- The elite will have to carefully balance ethnic tribalism of the poors as their standard of living declines
- The wealth divide will become even more extreme
- The ruling class will struggle to maintain control of the masses
- The ruling class will keep their assets outside the country
- The judiciary will be increasingly dictatorial and out of touch trying to maintain control, like Brazil
- Increasing political interference from ex-Canadian diaspora, like all the rich Miami latinos that fuck with their "home country" politics. Carney ran his campaign with expats and Democrats from the US.
From here I think the parallels diverge. In countries like Mexico the ruling class has a somewhat tightly run inequality system, where everybody knows where they stand in the order, and the people have a common shared cultural understanding and a long history together. The Laurentians think this system is possible in Canada, but it is not. They have made a catastrophic social leftist calculation that the groups they are importing can live in harmony beneath them.
Canada has opted to import muslims and jeets and the Chinese, the most hyper-tribal groups that exist on Earth. The Laurentians will absolutely lose control and this loss of control will be spectacular, and when this happens they will flee the country too. What will be left is a bombed out poverty zone filled with the worst parasites on Earth with nobody to manage them and a political system of pure Tribal warfare. Instead of getting a United Arab Emirates or a Brazil Canada's elites are going to get a Rhodesia or a South Africa. Perhaps a Cape Town style legacy settlement will remain in Montreal, but that will be it.
It's hilarious that boomers are scared of becoming a 51st state because with all the interference from Democrats they have endorsed what they have is already a second Puerto Rico.
