My area has always been using pencils since I've been able to vote and the only time they use a pen is when the poll workers cross your name off the list to say you voted. We're a conservative stronghold too, so it's just been the norm for me. One guy I work with is from BC and he said they generally use electronic voting for local and provincial, but paper for federal.

I think so, but just to protect our culture outside of Quebec. There's communities in northern Ontario or New Brunswick that might welcome it. Also folding back to Quebec only means abandoning greater reach.
