Canada is a failed state

What place did you dislike the most?
It's cliché, but I really disliked Toronto and really the whole of Southern Ontario. Torontonians are as pretentious as New Yorkers, but unlike New Yorkers, they really don't have anything to be pretentious about. Maybe the most irritating thing is they want you, if not need you, to parrot this fantasy that Toronto is sooo great and sooo unique and it's sooo much better than NYC, and if you disagree that means you just don't get Toronto. It's basically an inferiority complex masked with a superiority complex, and it makes for very tiresome interactions and conversations.

Toronto is the "best" that Canada has to offer, or at least that's how it's often billed, but it's still a nothingburger with no soul. I could forgive all of this if the people were at least friendly or nice, but they aren't! As cosmopolitan as the city is, everyone is still so closed-minded and cold. Someone in this thread mentioned this a while back, but Canadians really are not a friendly people, and I think that Toronto is prime example of how unfriendly and anti-social Canadians can be.

Excuse the poor meme construction, I was rushed.

Regulated Canadian nurses are now required to align their conduct with a detailed set of political values — among them, social justice, gender ideology, Indigenous belief systems, and climate activism.
"For the last time, Mr. Johnson, you're not having a heart attack. Your inner fire is being dowsed by the spirit of Sky Eagle because you didn't give your spare change to that Housing-Challenged Cree man you saw folded over on šxʷməθkʷəy̓əmasəm Street. Maybe going into the sweat lodge to smoke tobacco and converse with the ancestor-guide, Great Junkie, will help ease your suffering?"

LMAO. As someone who lives in the GTA thats actually so true. I never got why people would gush over the city, like, its not bad, but its still a hellscape full of mean spirited libshits. Stealing that meme btw, so thanks. Also, what would you say about the other places you lived in?
As if Canadian healthcare wasn't bad enough...

The Canadian Nurses Association’s 2025 Code of Ethics for Nurses denounces what it calls the “white, European-centric” foundations of modern medicine and compels nurses to adopt a broad set of radical, progressive political beliefs as part of their professional duties.

Regulated Canadian nurses are now required to align their conduct with a detailed set of political values — among them, social justice, gender ideology, Indigenous belief systems, and climate activism.

Nurses are now required to acknowledge “the historical and continuous impact that White, European-centric models of nursing and health have on the perpetuation of anti-Indigenous racism, anti- Black racism, and other types of racism.”

Yup, time for the old western ideals of medicine to move aside for the more proven and historical processes of the indigenous folks of the world. Where eating worms and getting tattoo's are used as a method to treat ailments and to ensure that every troon, pooner and in between is treated and honoured for the individual they are...or else kiss your license good bye.

Hope you bleeding heart Liberal party voters don't get sick anytime soon. You might not get the care you thought you would since your a (presumable) white person and thus a second class citizen in your own country and treated as such. Maybe the best bet is to troon out and that way you at least get some level of respect from the darkies and woke folks running things. Well that is until your healthcare costs get too high and they just MAID your lilly white ass out of existence.

How's voting Liberal doing for you now Canada
Are they deadass just going to make MAID a preferable option to getting treated by redskins

India has an atrocious environment, one of the most polluted on Earth, it's just undeniable fact, literally high degrees of air pollution and lead exposure, this is scientific fact. Their disgustingness should not be a surprise to anyone.
Given that they allegedly believe that the earth/nature itself is part of God can we honor kill them for extreme blasphemy :bogged:

Praying for you and sending you lots of goodwill through the astral plane. You couldn't pay me enough to even consider living within 100km of Toronto again. Literally my wasted years. God forbid you try dating in that overgrown wart of a city.

Also, what would you say about the other places you lived in?
I've lived in QC, ON, NS, and NL, and I've spent 6+ months in both PEI and NB. It's kind of a hard question to answer because there's so much to consider and write about, but if I had to rank them based on how much I liked being there, I'd say: QC > PEI > NS > ON > NL > NB. I don't know if sperging on about provinces would be okay to post in the thread.

Toronto is if Pittsburgh thought it was New York. You go there, you do the ROM, catch a Jays game and that is kind of it. The nightlife is better just about everywhere else, the shopping is better everywhere else. Driving in the city is a nightmare. It is a blue collar, industrial city with delusions of grandeur. Its only saving grace is that it is not Hamilton.

No goodwill ever reaches the Toronto Exclusion Zone. Nothing good happens in the GTA. Either way please speg out about the provinces so I can feel better about living in this place.

I was in Hamilton for college and it was somehow shittier than fucking toronto.

Going the Toronto as an Albertan is a surreal experience as it feels much more foreign to me than the United States. Frankly, I identify more with someone from Montana or the Dakotas than I do with the Eastern half of this country. The only reason I would consider going to Ontario is to see the paternal side of my family outside of Ottawa and I would not want to spent too much time in the city. I honestly don't have a strong desire to go to Lower Mainland BC either--only the Okanagan for nostalgia's sake. Much of it comes from the performative politeness and back-biting I witness here all too often.

Started reading through all the #hategate stuff from last year-ish after seeing Tamara Lich's tweet from yesterday about the 7/8 years the courts are apparently seeking to sentence them for 'mischief'

It seems a lot of the articles/sites have either been removed or expired (fortunately they're all on Wayback at least, and the original PDF is still accessible) after there was apparently some kind of fallout between the author's? I dunno, I haven't looked into it much, but it did get me thinking

Do we actually have any threads on these 'anti-hate' faggots?
'Cause they definitely seem like the kind of extremist, neoliberal nutcases who should have an eye kept on them to see what other retarded shit they've been pulling

Literal government stooge run antifa organization, Jesus this fucking hellhole country

Since I've made this thread things have changed for the worse.

LMIA has expanded and has now replaced every single person in an entry level low wage job with an Indian person. This allows company to pay little wage and government pays the rest. LMIA is expanding to higher paid positions too which is terrifying.

The "oh just move to a cheap city in the prairies" idea is now dead. Places like Edmonton are absolutely soaring in rent costs and housing is absurd there too. Alberta is very much necking Ontario in their COL crisis.

And poor Quebec has gone to the dogs too. Once a cheap to live province with a proud French Canadian Identity is now facing Toronto level living costs in their large cities and being swamped with Indians like every where else. Now I liked Quebec, I really did. They were the first to tell Muslims to integrate into the 21st century and they aren't shy about their dislike of mass immigration. I really thought they might hold off on this disaster but sadly.. they caved

Canada has fallen, millions must eh.

LMIA is bankrupting us in the most infuriating way.

Cut public service, increase gst, but they will not at all looking at removing this program. I don’t care who created it, but we’re heading into massive austerity and stuff like this, nato/military funding, Ukraine support has to be cut.

Yet it increases and the public is happy “Lisa needs braces, dental plan”.

Even fleeing the country is dicey now. Mexico City had their little mini-riot and display of anti-gringo sentiment. Politicos like to say it was left wing funded but those people stab and chop heads over pennies and are being pushed out of their homes so the political angle is not relevant outside of reactionary communities the knives are out and the anger is real. Portugal has internal political pressure to stop the 'gentrifiers' and digital nomads due to the price push and things seem to be changing in these exit-plan type places.

Turns out the 'fedpost stuff' 'for your homeland' was actually the most correct course of action because there's nowhere to really escape to and it's not going to get better. If the crisis foisted upon Canada by Trudeau and its rulers resulted in the election of a grotesque characature of a capitalist villain like Carney as PM just imagine who they could get elected next if they take the disasters they create even farther.

It's not getting better. It's never getting better.

The new crisis is this "High wage LMIA" thing. Boy...

It was created by the cons and expanded by the liberals. There was a very small documentary about LMIA corruption in the early days done in 2014. It used to be on YouTube but it's probably gone. LMIA's were around then too but working in a lot of underground industries like factories. There were several Indians then too.

Toronto was called Hogtown (and several variations of that) and The Big Smoke up to the 70s because it was known best for the massive meatpacking operations. The waterfront was all elevators and warehouses and the most prominent building was the Canada Life offices. It wasn't until the mid/late 70s when the paper-pushing revolution started that Toronto became 'something' on the world stage.

And whatever it may have had at one point is gone now, all of the hip cultural places are either bulldozed or gutted to make room for some globalist boutique store. I see walking videos from it and i can't recognize it from my time in 2008-2012, just a big condo hellscape.

When I was 11 me and two friends were driven to the much music studio to wait out in the crowd when Destiny's Child visited. The city was completely ordinary then and majority Canadian. I remember thinking to myself I wish Toronto was half as exciting as NYC...

Now I just feel sad.

That was also the financial capital of Canada shifting from Montreal to Toronto over the Quebecois Separation question.
