Most definitely Persian. Shahnaz was the name of a Persian princess before the fall of the monarchy; consequently, it was a very popular name for Mrs. Pestonji's generation. There's a large diaspora of Christian Persians in the Western world because they fled religious persecution from the Islamist regime. Even if she wasn't Canadian-born, she was still a little old lady and a former healthcare professional. Her murder was senseless and it's a shame that there will likely be no justice for her.Her name was Shahnaz [. . .] she seems either to be Persian or Parsi from India.
Edit: Upon reflection, the media spinning it as if she were a white woman might have to do with politics. The defense will probably say something like the beast that killed her was "justified" in doing so, since she was a representation of the racism he faced in society, or some retarded PC crap like that. I have no doubt that the colour of her skin will become a very important factor in deciding how the murderer will be treated.
