I see the appeal of it...Boomers only protest one thing and that is learning how the world actually works. Boomers prefer to live in a fantasy land where a secret cabal of rich people run everything.
Then again I'm cursed to sit outside my windows staring into America. It would take years to recertify myself for a roughly comparable wage. From a financial point of view it barely makes sense but I do get a creeping sense of doom around me.
I recall having a surprising heated argument explaining to a boomer that America wasn't collapsing and that all of Canada was as poor as the poorest singular state. He started talking about bonds and how no one would ever buy them from the states so their debt would collapse them?
I showed him how state bonds have nearly doubled in the past 5 years but it just had him doubling down. I think Canada can be helped but you somehow have to convince people how bad it really is first. We can't start to make things better if we live under the illusion things are working.
