Canada is a failed state

Its one of those ironic facets of geography. To Americans, the Canadian border is the ass end of nowhere, as far from civilization as you can go. The only reason we would go to Buffalo or Detroit is if we are going to Canada. For Canada though, the US border is the banana belt, because 90% of the population lives right up against it.

The only reason us in NY would travel to Canada was other side of the falls, Toronto, and if you had family on the otherside. You would really have to go out of your way to go to further into Canada.

To be fair, Canadian Conservatism *is* pretty shallow.

You can talk about how the modern Conservatives are a merger of social credit & American/Evangelical/populist influence in Alberta and a bunch of neoliberal technocrats in the east, but thats as deep as it goes. Going on about Sir John A or Diefenbaker doesn't actually tell you anything about the ideology of Canadian Conservatism.

The internal machinations of the parties are dictated by small internal MP candidate elections dominated by influential minority groups that can flood the running with their members (Fundamentalist churches, party insiders, Mosques/Gurdwaras/temples, etc) because of how disinterested Canadians are in Canadian politics and they are disinterested because there is not much participation or meaning to it.

What’s crazy is she is the furthest thing from a Liberal and is on record stating floor crossing should trigger a by-election. It’s an obvious cravengrab at staying in her seat and keeping the gravy train going on her end. She’s scared of losing her seat due to Carney’s current popularity and is hedging her bets this will keep her in power. Carney just wants more power and a majority government so he’ll take anyone on if it gets him closer to his goals. None of these sick fucks have principles.

Yeah this is realistic what trump wanted, to extort Canada when the party full of pussies and his old business partner (Carney) has all the power. I saw someone say that if PP won we'd have a "Russia-Belarua style vassalship" but that what we're realistically getting with either China or Amerikkka now, maybe even both.

I think there's also another possibility, Carney doesn't want an election (whether it's bad internal polling or calling a election would be unpopular) so he's bribing people to cross.

For as shit as the situation is, I do at least appreciate them being upfront about that.

It should outrage a lot more people that we now have a majority government no one voted for, but as has been said ITT, the average Third World Dictator wishes his people were as docile as Leafs.
