Anyone who knows of Trudeau's drama teacher days (and slight powerlevel, I've been to the same festival with Sock Boy in attendance a few times where he groped that reporter and have chatted with people who've interacted with him) will admit he's a party animal who has abused his looks/trust fund for all they're worth. He undeniably has multiple other skeletons in the closet, but I doubt many more will see the light of day given he's a veritable pariah for Canadian politics now with little reason for journalists to dig.

Every story I've ever heard of Trudeau is about how much of an asshole he is, or how much of an idiot he is. It's either him throwing a tantrum, or him doing something dumb.

Even ignoring the fact the border with Amerikkka will be too big to create a North Korea or East Germany style border walls. The TN visas are 2 sided, and Amerikkka will never allow their easy source of professionals to be extinguished. Plus Carney has always chicked out to Trump when push came to shove. If they're trying to prevent student scam being used to fund jeets going to Amerikkka...good luck with that.

To be honest I see it as 50/50. They would be physically disconnected from the mainland but that's the same for Alaska and they made it work. However if Alberta leaves then BC suddenly becomes responsible for more equalization payments and their tax burden is increased.

Nice little story time, but I did speak to a councilor from the rez near me. The guy straight up said all these old chiefs are massive idiots and have absolutely no idea how to handle something like this. He even said there will be a time when we have no treaties and wants to prepare the community for when it inevitably happens. Of course, the boomer natives are the ones pushing for legal action against separation, and mostly fat mid 40's women.

A lot of people tend to fall for these passion-plays and power-trips without a second thought. We all know that Canadians in power are almost always massive idiots: why would that rule bend when it comes to talking about leaders of ethnic minorities?

Just checking but there's no way the judges can go "yeah the referendum is cancelled because I said so it is so ordered" right?

This is delaying certifying the results......but wouldn't it make more sense to certify the signatures THEN decide if it even matters? Now they have to do all this court shit and listen to all this whining to possibly end up just being like "oh the signatures aren't even good enough for it to matter". It's almost like they already know something....or in that "month" (which a Canadian court month is probably 4 years) suddenly a bunch of forged indian signatures popup which have to be discarded...

It's far more than northern BC. Basically anything outside of the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, and the few remaining hippie enclaves in the western Kootenays/Okanagan is effectively Alberta with forests and mountains. The regional split in the province makes Quebec's look tame by comparison, all because, much like Seattle and Portland for Washington and Oregon, Vancouver/Victoria dominate the province.

The ICC requires that ALL members arrest a person on a wanted list, no matter what. I remember when Mongolia got condemned for not arresting Putin...despite being surrounded by Russia AND China. Realistic Canada wouldn't have the airpower to force the plane to stop either way, let alone risk pissing off Amerikkka.
