Canada is a failed state

Remember the guy who was fined in Nova Scotia for going into the woods because of wildfire risk during the covid case? Well we might have some good news about that case.

I do live in Alberta, but succession is still pretty unlikely, though not impossible. Albertan Succession is "mainstream" mainly because liberals LARP as the resistance against a fascist Alberta, amazing idea calling 5 million people traitors...The problem with creating change in Canada is that the country is ultracenteralized in the St.Lawrence region, in a similar manner to how Russia is ultracenteralized in Moscow and St.Petersberg.

It's honestly a travesty that Canadian authoritarianism isn't funnier. It would be hilarious to see anti-Amerikkkan riots after losing at sports or wheelchair boomers trying to do border clashes against the US border. They don't even make hilariously bad propaganada like Russia or China does. Also something crazy about Canada is how pro-China Canadians are, and this was the case back before Trump's spergouts in early 2025 too. Besides people who are already conservative or conservative leaning, I've personally met people who refuse to say even ONE bad thing about China or the CCP. This ironically makes a invasion by Amerikkka more likely, given the threat NEXT DOOR and the fact many Americans are starting to sour on Canada, like the whole thing about Dems getting mad at Chinese EVs.

Also if Amerikkka actually did invade Canada, outside of Reddit and other social medias, Canadians wouldn't have the balls to resist in any meaningful way.

It largely depends on what happens to Alberta. If Alberta successfully votes to secede then the western provinces will start to break off and the government may actually try to reform. If the government blocks the secession then things will get worse and worse with a secret police locking up anyone who doesn't accept the de facto uniparty.
Generally when polling, anything that people suspect will get them debanked may poll lower then reality. Alberta seceding still seems like a pipe dream so there isn't as much of a push for people to seriously consider it. That will likely change when the petition is approved and we actually do have the referendum - especially if America comes out with a draft trade agreement with Alberta that covers some people's concerns. Just with the petition there's people flipping their shit, so the liberals will go insane over the referendum and likely use all sorts of threats and attacks on Albertans that will horrify the general public that were indifferent or on the fence.

On that note, if america was to invade canada, how would you all feel about it? While I cant say I am stoked about being absorbed by israel, perhaps it would be a good way to restart the nation from scratch, albiet under american supervision.

It depends. Realistically the easiest way for America to do so is to give a public announcement that they are invading, how they will invade, and what rights and responsibilities Canadians can expect under American control, with the after note that it'll go quicker if citizens don't fight it.

Personally I think it's been over for a long time. Might as well be an American at this point and get 1A, 2A, the greenback and healthcare.

I agree, I'll add though I think Alberta separation can only happen with a sympathetic US administration ie Trump. There's no scenario where if the referendum gets serious Ottawa just doesn't a. rig it; b. cancel it; or the event of messing those two things up then option c. just say no you're not separating. What I fear is the current arrangement already benefits the US. With B.C. and the natives blocking overseas expansion and the oil being shipped down south for refinement (as I understand), why bother mucking that up for something that has a good chance of turning into a conundrum?

No thanks, even if you guys are made into territories rather than converting each province into a state (which would be fucking disastrous) every Canadian jeet will instantly start streaming south the same way Puerto Ricans do here.

I would assume that anyone not a citizen wouldn't be allowed into the states, and all temporary permit programs of Canada would be cancelled
