I've been searching for wax melts that smell like the description, and that aren't overpowering or perfume-y.
I've tried Goose Creek and Happy Wax but the number of misses vs. hits isn't worth the money for me anymore. I have a few bags of the latter brand and they are sitting opened but unused. I'll probably give them away on marketplace.
I did a search and found a company called Alatreyu that offers a sample pack of their scents (which are little 2x2 squares of heavy cardstock and you'll immediately smell the fragrance upon removal). Mine came with scents like Haystack, Wet Pavement, Ocean, Petrichor, Hydrangea, Creosote, Pine, Tomato Vine (that's a new one for me lol), etc.
I opened up Haystack last night and placed the sample on my air purifier so the fan would disperse the scent. Went to get a snack from the kitchen and upon returning, hand to heart it smelled like when I lived in the middle of an Oklahoma pasture. I pulled out Hydrangea today in my office and it's the perfect floral scent (each sample has the fragrance notes printed on it as well, so convenient!). When you're done you can put the sample back in the cellophane it came in and tape over the opened edge to preserve it for another use.
They also offer "pay what you can" which is really nice, ofc I will pay full price when I finally land on my favorites and place an order.
TL;DR: Alatreyu offers a generous free sample pack of their scents and I'd highly recommend checking them out.
