I've been searching for wax melts that smell like the description, and that aren't overpowering or perfume-y.

I've tried Goose Creek and Happy Wax but the number of misses vs. hits isn't worth the money for me anymore. I have a few bags of the latter brand and they are sitting opened but unused. I'll probably give them away on marketplace.

I did a search and found a company called Alatreyu that offers a sample pack of their scents (which are little 2x2 squares of heavy cardstock and you'll immediately smell the fragrance upon removal). Mine came with scents like Haystack, Wet Pavement, Ocean, Petrichor, Hydrangea, Creosote, Pine, Tomato Vine (that's a new one for me lol), etc.

I opened up Haystack last night and placed the sample on my air purifier so the fan would disperse the scent. Went to get a snack from the kitchen and upon returning, hand to heart it smelled like when I lived in the middle of an Oklahoma pasture. I pulled out Hydrangea today in my office and it's the perfect floral scent (each sample has the fragrance notes printed on it as well, so convenient!). When you're done you can put the sample back in the cellophane it came in and tape over the opened edge to preserve it for another use.

They also offer "pay what you can" which is really nice, ofc I will pay full price when I finally land on my favorites and place an order.

TL;DR: Alatreyu offers a generous free sample pack of their scents and I'd highly recommend checking them out.

Why buy Gwenyth Paltrow's vagina candle when you can buy Otaku Scents' Vegeta candle

Also Vegeta smells like fresh laundry for some reason, I expected either bananas or ball sweat
So I bought the Vegeta candle for half-joke reasons, but now I'm actually very fond of this business. I've purchased at least 6 candles from them total, usually during sales.
Eevee was by far my favorite, this smelled like freshly baked sugar cookies. A few have smelled a little too strong and some candles have melted unevenly, but I'd rather support a small business then just get all my candles off the clearance black hole at Marshall's.

they are actually a great company and a lot of the candles they have smell very pretty!

Bath and Body Works' "Fresh Cut Lilacs" is honest to god like crack to me. I can't stop sniffing it when I open the lid, it helps that I already love the smell of lilacs. Also, why do a majority of dessert-themed candles smell either wrong or like a punishment from god?

But in all seriousness, I do like a lot of candle scents. Pretty much anything from dollar store deals to even high quality stuff. Everything I know about candles comes from my mom lol.

I bet Pokémon could be an untapped candle gold mine, especially with the ones inspired by food (Alcremie, Slurpuff, Fidough, Scovillan, Appletun,) plants (Sunflora, Bellosum, Roselia, Abomasnow), and some silly gags (Trubbish and Gloom).

Just make one based on Lucario and Gardevoir, the market is already right there.
