Why would you portray Ninjas as anything other than Asian? What culture other than Feudal Japan had ninjas?

William Adams was a samurai but unless I missed something in a historical context there were never any non Asian ninjas.

I wonder if other media where we see martial arts and people drawn to look Asian will also be removed. Thanks to that idiot racking up a massage parlor body count we will see a lot more of this.

You know, in America we can buy and wear whatever clothes we want. Chinese run shops will happily sell these dresses to anyone with money. If it was such an issue they would keep the clothes in the back and only bring them out for Chinese customers.

Oops. He's got an accent. That would be fine if he were French or something. But he's Asian so the book must be cancelled and the author must make a hasty apology if he wants to remain uncancelled himself.

If you have this book I suggest you start scalping. You might make some money off of a dumbass or two.
 
I bought this book at a book fair a long long time ago as a kid and I loved it. I didn't think it was racist at all, and tbh I don't think anyone I knew growing up did either, because all we cared about was inappropriate jokes and a good story, which Ook and Gluk delivered.

Literally the only people who care about that stuff are the kind of people who thought the book was gross as a kid because there were too many potty jokes or some shit. People are just way to uptight these days.

The misspellings aren't part of an accent. It's to simulate homemade comic books made by kids. The main Captain Underpants books had this in their comic sections regardless of race.

Pretty sure these comic sections angered at least a few unfun adults back in the day. Yes, get mad at a book series that encourages late readers to suddenly become fully literate. Seriously, give a struggling kid a Captain Underpants book and they'll go from unable to read one word to reading entire books within a week.

I wasn't struggling as a kid when I read captain underpants, but god did it make me actually enjoy reading more and got me into other book series like Geronimo Stilton growing up. Captain Underpants is that nice jumping off point of fun and a good book that does engage young readers. Usually after Cap, most kids branch out into other books since cap is that perfect length to keep you engaged but still wanting more after it's said and done.
 
It's shitty that they want to make Asian culture "hands off" for white people, you could never get something like an Avatar: The Last Airbender in today's climate.

When are SJW assholes going to realize that alluding to or appreciating another culture is not the same as insulting it? Are the Hayao Miyazaki films that are either set in Europe or a European esque culture an insult to European culture because they're made by a Japanese filmmaker? Of course not.

Anyway, think of all the fucking things we’d have to cancel if everything that had an Asian kung fu master got banned. Karate Kid, TMNT, a fucking Sonic game, Street Fighter...

and you know its bad when pilkey was originally atcked by the last gen of cancel culture. When they went after his books not for "rascisim" but because of the misspelled words in the comics george and harold drew, or because of the poop and gross jokes.

funny how he stood his ground against the cancel culture of 20 odd years ago, but refuses to the same now (though yes i admit the later captain underpants books from what ive heard actually toned down on the grossout and crude humor)
