Isn't something like this a pretty clear anti-trust issue? If businesses act as a cartel, they can be punished, because that's illegal.

I'm sure if "private entity" paypal decided they weren't processing any payments from black people, there would be some way for the government to make them cut that shit out.

Maybe for Allsup. I doubt that Carl will get to benefit from American antitrust laws unless he somehow retroactively cancels a tax on tea from a while back

How do anti-trust laws even get used though? For some reason I was under the impression that was something the government had to get involved with on their own time, and fuck knows they haven't busted up any companies that desperately need it (like Alphabet) in a long ass time.

Meh all the right wingers already are saying what patreon did was bad/wrong and the classic "someone needs to do something about this"

Well I guess to be more direct about it, he'd have a better chance at getting more people from the right/center who hate him to stop hating him than he ever will be able to get progressives to stop hating him.

Yeah, the Civil Rights Act. That only applies to a few protected categories though.

Being a conservative isn't a protected group.

With Microsoft it seemed like as soon as they were labelled as an an abusive monopoly the government could act

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_v._Microsoft_Corp.#Judgment

Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson issued his findings of fact on November 5, 1999, which stated that Microsoft's dominance of the x86-based personal computer operating systems market constituted a monopoly, and that Microsoft had taken actions to crush threats to that monopoly, including Apple, Java, Netscape, Lotus Software, RealNetworks, Linux, and others.[5] Judgment was split in two parts. On April 3, 2000, he issued his conclusions of law, according to which Microsoft had committed monopolization, attempted monopolization, and tying in violation of Sections 1 and 2 of the Sherman Antitrust Act.[16] Microsoft immediately appealed the decision.[17]

Even then not much changed.

I don't think that it is fair to call every non-leftist a conservative.

It's not just non-leftists. Sam Harris is basically persona non grata with the left. So is David Rubin. So are the Weinsteins and Jordan Peterson. Harris and the Weinsteins are Democrats. Rubin is too.

I reckon Peterson is a conservative. In fact the whole 'Intellectual Dark Web' concept was started by Democrats who'd been kicked out of the left.

I think it's more like he believes his remaining fans are exactly that stupid. He might not be wrong about that.
I mean he actually said that Jim is responsible for trolls harassing him on his Jimothy stream, I doubt he doesn't believe it.
Also, he called the coke sniffing thing and white nibbas bit Nazi propaganda and Nazi apologia respectively.

If he could go on the Killstream and just be a normal person and have some banter I'm fairly sure they would bury the hatchet real quick. He's just too far down the rabbit hole of blaming other people or groups for his mistakes and the people he has surrounded himself with aren't helping.
Its not that he's buried a hole for himself, its that this is just his character and he's been a snake all along.

Be a proponent of free speech? Well what happens when someone does some digging on a company supported by your pals? Why you call him an autistic conspiracy theorist and look up his mother.
One of your friends does a dig on someone who might be scam artist? Throw him under the bus, you can sense what the optics are going to look like and you need to protect yourself even though you don't think there's anything wrong with it.
Some dude on the internet makes fun of your suit and your half-baked political movement? Smear him as a fucking pedophile.

Theres no coming back from all this, and when you see this much shit coming from someone the best thing to do is either laugh at them or back the fuck away because you'll have seen their true colors.

Him and his friends are exactly that stupid.

I think what annoys me about this response is that I'm pretty sure PJW knows the real reason Sargon lost his patreon (which is probably the same reason Milo lost his). And instead of blaming Patreon itself, PJW is giving them a pass by blaming anon trolls. He's literally saying "oh no, Patreon wouldn't do this unless they were tricked into doing so by darn dirty trolls!"
It's a retarded line of reasoning given what we know about Patreon.

It's a exceptional line of reasoning given what we know about Patreon.

Well if they directly shit on Patreon there's no chance they'll get their accounts back, which is what they want. They're not so much pissed that they're de-platformed, they're pissed the gravy train's stopped cold.

How, exactly, does the voting public get the government to do that though? I did a cursory web search and it's just articles talking about the case itself, but not how the ball got rolling.

They can't basically. Before that case Microsoft didn't make political donations. Now they make loads. And all the Silly Valley companies donate too.

The only way I could see it working out would be if the Silly Valley companies donate to Democrats and the GOP decide they're enemies and embrace regulation and trust busting. Which seems very unlikely. Trump might like the idea but the average GOP pol hates regulation, trust busting and intervention.

What I think will happen is nothing until the Democrats are in power in House, Senate and Presidency and then they'll force all the tech companies to censor and deplatform even more.

If all this seems excessively black pilled then rest assured things are more fucked up in Europe. And as Null once said "It's not oeuvre until it's oeuvre".

I am jealous of Carl. I cannot imagine being a failure at school...be unemployed (yes I know he makes youtube money but that isn't a real fucking job as he has to beg for cash like a homeless person), and yet he thinks that an entire country should follow his advice.

That level of self assurance is amazing to me. Imagine if DSP were to launch a campaign with the US Libertarian Party. Actually it would not be the Libertarian party...it would be like the Wigs or something. An insanely obscured political party on its death bed...

Sending an email with a (((fake name))) to cause trouble? That could be literally any edgy boi online

So is there some way that he himself saw that (like how on stream.me you can see reports) or is that a screenshot? Because if it's a screenshot I wouldn't put it past him to have done that himself, screenshotted it, and then just posted it himself.

But yeah, it's as likely to be anyone online who hates his ass as anyone else, left or right. That's sort of a good lesson in why you don't let your ego lead you to burn most of the bridges you have, I guess.

Can't say I'm surprised that with all of this targeted de-platforming going on that the Patreon was taken down, it was always going to be a number one target and too many of the youtubers relied on it after adpocalypse to actually see them through without thinking about the magic what if. The whole Lauren Southern debacle should have been a warning sign to try and find or create alternative platforms.

That said that's got to be a big kick to the nuts, 100k I didn't know Sargon was making that much off of his patreon. Hopefully he saved some of that, because I have the feeling it's going to be a very lean winter otherwise. He may have to give up some of his most expensive habits, sniff sniff.

To put into perspective how healthy Sargon's YT presence is, here is an interview with the party leader of UKIP and over 3 days he has not reached even 100k views on it.
Right now his sub count is at about 870k and most videos he does nowadays hit about 150-250k views, the same is just about true on his Thinkery channel with 300k subs on it. So even by the standards of his lower video output since Phase 2, this is a pretty significant under performance.
