I don't know about PJW, but for Carl it's definitely because he's still got a vendetta against them for making him look like the sperg he is since the Spencer debate. He's trying to craft this into a narrative to make them look bad (which is as stupid as it sounds) because of that, while simultaneously trying to get into the good graces of the same kind of people who just booted his ass to the curb.

His ego is getting in the way of what he should be doing in my opinion - trying to repair the burnt bridges he's made so far, and it's only going to go downhill from here because of it. As he and others sperg more and more about this he's only going to get more of a spotlight shone on him and people will all-too-readily share the myriad clip reels of him rattling off slurs because "why not?" which will probably lead to his other social media being terminated as well since they all seem to have an "anti hate-speech" clause.

I honestly think that if he swallowed his pride, owned up to not only his unbelievable hypocrisy but the slandering that he's done, and made a shitload of apologies that he would get some backing by people on the right. If I had his ear I'd suggest he go on the Killstream as well and just take whatever they have to throw at him for an hour at least, as a show of sincerity.
