If you go through the the twitter side of fandoms like Danganronpa, Enstars, Genshin Impact, Vocaloid, Homestuck, Minecraft, etc. there's a very, very high chance you'll find a carrd page linked in the pinned posts or bios.

Twitter is already the de facto new tumblr after the porn migration. The twitter art and fandom communities just took over Carrd and are using it as a means to share their identification, like the aforementioned pronouns, genders, DNF, etc.

The twitter art community as a whole is a shitshow of drama and bizzare stuff like this, and Carrd is a byproduct and just a mild taste of its insanity.

Anti v Proship shit is so fucking funny to watch. Sometimes when I'm bored I'll look through callout tags on Tumblr and there's always that one callout from an anti-shipper that's pretty much "@komaedakinlover wrote an incest fic 4 years ago!!! callout!!! cancel them!!! this is NOT OKAY!!!". (Wait until these people hear about step-sibling porn.) Then all the pro-shippers defending the callout target are the same ones who are all "Yeah, shipping a 6 year old with a 42 year old is good and it's just fiction you prudes".

Carrds, in my eyes, signal "I can't handle when people disagree with me".

With the DNI thing, oh yes, some people are deadly serious about it. With some kinnies it gets to the point where people will say "I'm Komaeda, no doubles" then turn around and say "DNI if you follow any other people claiming to be Komaeda! I'M THE ONLY KOMAEDA! I will block and tell my friends if you break my DNI!" As well, a lot of Twitter accounts with Carrds are private, so you need to look through their whole Carrd then send them a keyword or emoji 'password' before they'll let you follow you, to verify that you read their Carrd.

One thing I disagree with, though, is Big Mouth (Not Riverdale, I think you described that one fine) just being a show about teens having sex. I feel it goes deeper than that and it boredrlines on creepy at times.

Hm... Should I remove Big Mouth from it? Move it onto it's own line so it can get it's own explanation? I wasn't sure the best way to describe it as I'm not super familiar with it.
Is there any shit on Carrds that you guys want me to explain? I'm adding a section on KPop terms (thanks @alpro whore ) and I'll clean up the kinnies section a bit, but is there anything else I should add or clarify?

What's hilarious about this shit is that if they didn't insist on being on completely open social media sites like Twitter, they wouldn't have to be so neurotic about it. Go set up a forum or a Discord sever or something, and you can just ban whoever you want for whatever reason and be the only [insert character here] in the roleplay. It wouldn't even be any more effort, considering how much work they put into sperging about who is and isn't allowed to look at their internet posts.

Kinda related to custom pronouns and kins, but do you have any info on xenogenders you could emphasize in the description, such as puppygender, aliengender, dryadgender, autigender (I’m not shitposting), and other kinds that are either just personality traits or fantastical stuff they happen to “associate” with?

here is a carrd describing it and a tumblr dedicated to listing them. Browse for ridiculous ones to your heart’s content.

Do these people understand what a "gender" even is? None of these "xenogenders" talk about anything relating to males or females, so therefore, why the fuck can't you just say that's your personality?

Alright, added a fair bit to the post. Thanks for the suggestions + help so far guys, let me know if there's more feedback or ideas for things I should add.
  • Added a section for KPop with basic info (thanks @alpro whore for the basics)
  • Updated genders+sexualities tab
    • Includes basic xenogenders, neopronouns + mogai info
      • I still need to go more in-depth about this section but what I have will do for now
  • Updated the iredeemable media list [now has bullets on Harry Potter, Killing Stalking]
  • Updated self-shipping tab
    • Includes 'fictosexual'
  • Moved the Danganronpa stuff to a 'general fandom' tab, added a bit about Minecraft youtubers.
  • Added a bunch of example photos wherever I could find them.
I'll likely move the KPop section into the general fandom section next time I go to update this.

Haven't touched 'Big Mouth' at all as I'm still not sure how to reword it. I'll keep it as is for now.

It’s unfortunate that people have gone batshit with carrd. From a practicality standpoint, it’s useful for things like business cards, your single Twitter link, etc. as a one-stop-shop to all of your relevant links, portfolios, whatever. You know, using it for the intended purpose. It’s good for that, and a lot of people can come up with some really nice looking designs for that purpose.

I’ve been lucky to not come across any DNIs, but I also don’t generally follow carrd links unless I’m looking for something in particular.

Genuinely, over 95% of these things always, ALWAYS have mental illnesses listed. Really, it's another factor to take into consideration about whether or not someone has anything worth saying. If they have cardd link in bio, a kpop avatar, and some flavor of the month movement hashtag they'll forget in a week; they're basically a subhuman whose opinions are worth less than that of non-existent metaphysical concepts. Fantastic idea for a thread, by the way. The perfect thing for this site, seriously; kudos to you.
