Okay, this shit's retarded, but I'm going to try to brave myself to read through it all.
1. The slave character is black. The "curse" refers to her being a bastard child, because apparently black people can't angst about that?
pasted image 0.png

This part shows that the Enchantress’s mother was likely r//ped by a white slave owner, which ””””” cursed ”””” her with the fact that she is a bastard who possesses the blood of a colonialist. While this is definitely something that occurred in real life, coming from the fact that this is a story made by NetEase; it’s not a story that should be told by them. By creating a backstory like this for the sake of making money, NetEase is profiting off the suffering of black people.
What dictates that NetEase shouldn't tell this story? Something you'll see a lot here is "they're profiting off of the suffering of __". Um, do these people realize by buying BLM shirts and merch, they're profiting off of George Floyd suffocating by that logic?

2. Whitewashing, cultural appropriation, blackface. The Mercenary is Nepalese, despite having blue eyes. Therefore, whitewashing. Even though this character literally has buttons for eyes...
pasted image 0.png

In addition to this, some white characters have skins that turn them black, like the Lawyer:
pasted image 0.png

It's supposed to be a reference to black cops in movies and TV-shows who often have them with a mustache similar to the one above.
There's way too many native skins to post here, so I'll suggest you go into the document to look at them yourself. There's also a black character who recieves white skins, and that's bad too, despite the fact that the white characters receive the same treatment.
pasted image 0.png
pasted image 0.png

Another example of blackface is a Japanese woman who plays the Enchantress in a IDV stageplay. The Enchantress in question is mixed race.

3. Game includes themes of racism(?), therefore the game developers must be racist themselves. There is a moment in the game where a character in-game refers to the Foward (black athlete character posted above) as "uncivilized",
pasted image 0.png

The cowboy character also befriended a few native americans, and that's racist too, apparently.

4. Ableism! Because that's a word that definitely hasn't lost all meaning. This game deals with a lot of mental and physical disability in it's plot, so bear with me here.
The Sculptor is dressed as a mental institution patient. She is electroshocked whenever she tries to use her chisel.
Sculptorconcept.jpg

To quote the journal:
Her backstory, in short, is that she grew exceptionally obsessed with her sculptures to the point where her parents checked her into a mental hospital, in which she then proceeded to sculpt compulsively and murder a nurse before escaping.
She also has a introductory video, which can be seen here:
Despite the negative attention, this video has not been disliked bombed yet.
There's also concept art of her that originally made her afflicted with dwarfism, and that's villainizing people with dwarfism, apparently.
pasted image 0.png

There's another disabled character, too. The Mind's Eye is a blind woman based off of Helen Adams Keller, the first blind (and deaf) woman to earn a bachelor's degree.
pasted image 0.png

This character's backstory is slightly altered, though. Instead of being both deaf and blind, she was only blind, and she faked being deaf. Some people thought this made it seem like Helen's accomplishments seem less impressive than it really was.

The Gravekeeper, unlike the others, is not impared in the way most would percieve him, but he is afflicted with Albinoism.
pasted image 0.png

He is seen as a monster by others because of his albinism. The character's backstory seems to be mostly about him growing up lonely and misunderstood for his condition, unlike Sculptor who is violent. He also has a fear of sunlight, because albinos have very sensitive skin.

The Disciple is a nun who caught a disease that disfigured her, and was ostracized for it. People thought she was spreading a plague, and ordered for her execution.
pasted image 0.png

The Embalmer is an autistic man who takes his interests/hyperfixations to the extreme and was manipulated by his legal guardians to kill. Similar to the Sculptor, except it is portrayed as more sympathetic in his case.
pasted image 0.png

The Ripper, as the name suggests, is a character based off of Jack the Ripper. He is afflicted with DID, as he has two personalities; a renowned artist who is gentlemanly in nature, and a stalker who goes after poor women.
Jack_The_Ripper.png

The last example is the Soul Weaver, a spider woman. She's based off of Aloisia “Violetta” Wagner, a disabled woman with no limbs who was famous for preforming in "freak shows", which was pretty common back in the day.
Violetta.png
pasted image 0.png

Unlike the real-life Violetta, though, the Soul Weaver made her own prosthetic limbs that resemble spider limbs.
While the backstories for both the character and the real person align in the sense that they are both freak show performers, the difference lies in Soul Weaver’s spider-like prosthetics. As this is historically inaccurate for the time period IDV resides in, it goes to show that Soul Weaver’s disability was merely a plot device used to up the horror factor on this Hunter. Without any regard for research for the actual subject of disability in those times.

To the common argument that this specific example is null in the grand scheme of the document. Due to the fact that a character’s abilities do not have to be historically accurate/realistic because of the game being part of the fiction genre. Tell us this, why is the depiction of horrific ableist and racist rhetoric used in the various character’s backstories historically accurate; while when it is time to actually accomodate for a character’s disability, the developers go the route of fictional prosthetics instead of historical research?
There's also a few skins that give the characters straight jackets.

4. Transphobia... Or rather, transmisogny as it's called here. A male character known as the Lucky Guy has a maid outfit skin. He is portrayed in a foolish, comedic manner this way, as does the "man in a dress" trope usually plays out.
pasted image 0.png

Instead of simply being a male character dressing in a gender non-conforming fashion, this is clearly fetishistic and portrayed as a joke as no other male character has been shown with a gender non-conforming costume, nor is any of it seen in a positive manner, which happens to be directly harmful to trans women who have to deal with such transmisogynistic jokes. As well as the clearly uncomfortable (blushing + sweating) expression shown in the official art and character model.

This might be a different situation if the fanbase acknowledged this as harmful but, on the contrary, we have personally seen multiple drawings and other fan creations that play into this “joke”/deem it “sexy”, instead of rightfully criticizing it as being transmisogynistic.
Or maybe it's because people in the IDV fandom aren't oversensitive and cry over every little thing that may be offensive. Notice how they use "rightfully criticizing it", too. As if they're revolutionaries for getting mad over a joke skin.

5. Homophobia. The Gardener is a character who is supposedly "coded" as being a lesbian.
pasted image 0.png

Their reasoning for her possibly being a lesbian most likely comes from her diary entries, which revolve around the obsession of another woman, Emma Woods, or "the Doctor". She also had an abusive relationship with the Thief, who is far older than her.

And that's about it. Here's the conclusion if you've made it this far.

The fanbase surrounding this game has made little to no efforts into warning other users that try to get into this game, or are just curious about it, about the amount of horrible and offensive shit it portrays, nor even acknowledging how all of this could be harmful to people, and there’s definitely no way to consume the content/little amount of lore it has outside of this critically assuming you did read this document.

While the persecution of minorities always has been around, you have to understand that it's still not okay to purposefully go out of your way to incorporate the history of that into fictional media unrelated to real life with no focus or intent to make any commentary on it whatsoever. This isn't an example of NetEase trying to shed light onto these issues, all they're doing is perpetuating the same historical prejudices and trivializing them as plot devices to use in backstories of characters in a heavily monetized mobile game.

Finally, NetEase profits off of all of this and just shrugging this off and continuing to talk about the game and its characters publicly and spreading its influence whilst trying to "ignore" the sheer amount of actively harmful content is still, you guessed it, supporting the company. Even if you are not directly giving the company money, the more people you expose to the game increases the reach and odds of people buying microtransactions or merchandise or any other form of monetization.

There's a segment on anti-Semitism because of "evil reptilians" or whatever, but even the document thought that wasn't worth touching on.

If you don’t mind me adding, it’s worth noting that the Doctor raised the Gardener, also making her way older. The entire homophobia section should be discredited as a result, because it’s just awkward at that point.

I'm currently compiling a doc with autistic carrds I've come across, sorted by fandoms and all that. It's going to take a while because there's an ungodly amount of these carrds and to list them all would require ages, but I digress.

Here are some of the newest ones I've found. Three of these I found through inputting random words before .carrd.co.

https://transmisogyny.carrd.co/ - “Autistic, genderless femme transsexual”, "MARXIST LENINIST LEANING INTERNATIONALIST COMMUNIST, POST-STRUCTURALIST, POSTGENDERIST FEMINIST, ABSURDIST, EXISTENTIALIST, COLLECTIVIST, ASPIRING PSYCHONAUT, "SUICIDE BAITING WHORE", AND A MULTITUDE OF OTHER IDENTIFIERS."

Yes, that's literally what it says.
ugghhhh.PNGoh my god.PNG

https://scythessss.carrd.co/ - Nagito kinnie, Sangwoo, 15 year old who has an entire section dedicated to hard kinks and pet names like rapist, master, forced self-harm, etc.
https://captor.carrd.co/ - 18 year old who has his(?) kinks listed, liberal, "DNI if you support Trump"
https://redditor.carrd.co/ - FTM troon, BPD, reddit pronouns, "PLEASE DON'T INTERACT IF YOU KIN/HAVE THE MALE INTP AVATAR FROM 16PERSONALITIES AS YOUR PFP. I'M SERIOUS ABOUT THIS"

No kidding here as well.

Hm, now that you mention it, it's less of a crush and more of a parent and child relationship. Unsure how they missed that detail.

LMFAO this shrimp thinks they're Joseph Joestar, oh my god. Also choosing real currently alive people is considered a big no-no in the kin community.
Is that still true though? It seems like I'm seeing a lot more "factives" these days, especially with carrds- could be that these are just the most autistic of the autistic, though.

I suppose it used to be, then. I remember when many would shun those who chose real people as kins. Either way, Carrd is autism. Some of them are so hideous.

Can anyone explain to me why there's been a lot of people claiming that names make them uncomfortable? I really don't get this stupid trend, especially when some of these names are pretty common.

Also, I'm really beginning to hate the words "comfort" and "discomfort" because of these Carrds.
I’m going to guess those are names of other kids in their class that they don’t like.

This isn’t something I've seen much of but there’s also different variations of the carrd.co url. If you buy a Pro subscription, you can get access to publishing carrds under the following options, not just carrd.co:

View attachment 1968154
  • A custom domain, provided that it’s already registered somewhere else
  • .crd.co, shortened version of carrd.co
  • .uwu.ai
I’ve only seen a few instances where the last option was used, and all of it is with a “traumagenic system” who has separate carrds for their Wilbur, Skeppy and Dream factives. I originally found this person’s carrds while typing in random words before .carrd.co / crd.co / uwu.ai, so if you’re feeling bored and want to go carrd hunting / guess your luck, you can do that I guess.

System carrd: https://ableism.carrd.co/
Wilbur carrd: https://wilbur.uwu.ai
Skeppy carrd: https://skep.uwu.ai/
Dream carrd: https://dreamwastaken.uwu.ai/

Subsystem carrd: https://theburrow.crd.co/
Ghostbur: https://ghostie.crd.co/
Simpbur: https://simpbur.crd.co/

It’s about as much of a shitshow as you can expect: It's is actually worse than any of the ones I posted before. Condensing all the lunacy into one or two screenshots alone is not enough, so I’m throwing them all in a spoiler.
