As has been said there's no grey area - it is illegal nationwide to send/receive nudes of people under 18. Age of Conset and Romeo & Juliet don't factor into it.

Maybe there should be exceptions for situations like this but 1. idfk what kind of politician is ever going to try to pass that shit. none obviously and 2. the law's policy on cp is scorched earth for a good reason so it's hard to make anything else work in that framework
