Cartoon Industry thread - Showcasing the Spergery of the Animation Industry

I have no idea who the hell this guy is, but he's like a Canadian Earl Hickey, despite being neither. I really hope he continues.

This older Arc was more fun.

You know, I've never seen Clarence. I always thought that it looked ugly as sin and didn't want anything to do with it.
If it's as funny as this clip, maybe I was missing out!

Yo wtf, so the creator based the dead beat step dad off of himself? lmfao
Moreso he based Chad on his idea of an affable loser and he BECAME an affable loser.

You’re missing out,it’s pure kino

I don't like that bingo card. It looks like something made by a poltard on /co/ back in 2017 when Steven Universe was still running. I tried making a new one but ran out of ideas
- Not straight (Free space)
- all setting, no story
- exposition bloat (Lots of telling, barely any showing)
- questions are answered outside the cartoon
- answers raise further questions
- loose bible references/inspiration (from non-Christians)
- enjoyment comes from discussion more than actually watching
- Cursing, compensates for no humor
I agree it has problems; I made it in a hurry.

Could always keep
- Shallow anime references
- Funded with taxpayer money
- Creator addicted to X/Bluesky
- Sketchy/off-model art

Could the main antagonist being on life support for what appears to be too long, having an excellent upbringing where she got whatever she want in a world that never stopped building, and a "terrible thing" that probably shaped the world probably a criticism of boomers?
Could also be helicopter-parented Zoomers? ("world that never stopped building" could be the fake non-recession preceding COVID that made zoomers all think they could be billionaire influencers or car battery salesmen. Do you think Dana Terrace and her pozzed teenage staff might think of that? I don't know her work well because Owl House looks islamic in every still so I never watched it.

Vivziepop is the world champion in all three of these.

Definitely not. I watched the owl house when I was surrounded by troons and it has some good moments it never capitalizes on and worse moments that it does capitalize on. Dana would absolutely not criticize her main audience.

Didn't even wanted to give it a chance but after seeing so many kiwis saying positive things in this and other animation related threads, I had to and well I guess I stand corrected. Writing wise it was decent, Andrea and Frankie where somewhat likable, Guinever so far feels more like a plot device and all the others were fine too, didn't found the voice acting that remarkable but not that terrible either but I can see some hating it after a while. Very solid pilot that hooks you and while the animation can be choppy sometimes the environments and scenarios more than make up for it.

However I just don't like that "Steven Universe meets anime" artstyle, so the characters always looked weird to me. But my biggest problem is in the fact that the plot seems to just consist of mystery boxes with little on the way, and I don't know about you but I'm tired of waiting 5 months to 1 year between releases just so I can get a few breadcrumbs of information while I hope that it doesn't shit the bed, and this is not only a Guinever problem, almost all indie pilots have distilled this exact same formula that while understandable in terms of engagement, makes what was supposed to be a more free alternative just as corporate.

But yeah, 7/10 see you again in 2028 when the trailer of episode 2 drops.

I want to give it a chance but the whole shit show surrounding the shows production makes me realistically skeptical. Like that this supposed to be a way for Dana Terrace to vent her frustration that Disney cut the funding on her gay propaganda self insert show aka The Owl House. Not to mention all the discussion about this show talks about nothing other than how it will destroy Disney with it's super written social commentary.

I'm baffled at people calling this thing good or decent. I was talking to a close friend who has his own project (it's pretty good but I won't share out of respect for his privacy.) Anyways we talked about how irritating it is when cartoons make their influences too obvious or shallow. All these Y2Kisms Pan does feel like substitutions for characters with personalities. The issue is Pan is clearly not a writer or a voice actor. If he worked with someone to make the writing good and instead focused on production, supervising it could have been okay.
Kind of reminds me also of Mr.Enters cartoon
What a lot of these types don't seem to get is that they either need to really grind it out or be dedicated enough to squeeze a little into the industry before they should even considering working on their own cartoon with very little experience. Because they talk about cartoons a lot they think they can jump right into making one without any knowledge of how to even get one past a concept phase.

Friend of mine showed me this. Isn't this like the 4th series they have now?

I just looked up Skyler Page and he was accused of rape? What the fuck happened to him and why was he kicked off his own show?

I have a feeling that Dana was a Lapis Lazuli fag when SU was around. Guniviere is the exact shade of blue as Lapis Lazuli

Anyway, the visuals were done very well. But goddamn the writing is pure ass. Feels like another Steven Universe show but "Adult". Dana's not the most subtle of storytellers. I'm anticipating dykes and shitty plot points that are totally about the big bad "Disneyesque corporation" while shilling merchandise at the end. like a whore.

I sometimes really wish the cancelled 1990s Doctor Who animated series/revival went through

It probably would've been fairly short lived but I can see it having sovl.
