Goddamn it....

Inb4 she turns out to be straight, and she’s just a big fan of the gender studies major. It’s happened before, and it will happen again.
Actually creators have been trying to make Velma a lesbian for decades, and the creatives behind this continuity have openly said they write her as one.

Whatever. Velma was always had that "Lesbian until the right guy comes along" bisexual vibe no matter how she was portrayed.

Honestly, my favorite depiction of Velma were that Mysteries INC. one where she was angry, horny and generally hormonal for Shaggy while he kept giving her blue-clit in favor of Scooby. Who, might I add SWORE TO FUCKING KILL a talking Owl. After all that rjection, it was like they wanted to make her a lesbian out of spite with Hotdog Water/ Marcie, it had to be spite. Unless Velma was a pure degenerate, why would she put her lips ANYWHERE on a woman that smelled of Hotdog Water?
Shame Marcie was killed by the Nazibots - - You know - - That show was cooler than it had any right to.

Also, the new brown girl seems to be fetish bait. Can't wait for a generation to grow up with "Let's split up gang" and velma/brown girl get lost and find a bedroom, while Daphne and Scoob get stuck together and Shaggy and Fred make really gay innuendos about traps towards each other.

Lol back in the 90s/early 2000's that dude was Johnny Bravo through and through. Johnny even cucked Dexter in the commercials!

Thinking about it now.....just how MUCH must the current crop of (children) animators hate Johnny Bravo? A white dude that works out, talks to women, and love his momma.

It'll always be funny to me that the show's main lesson is that you shouldn't be assertive to girls. Despite that, Johnny Bravo is more respectful & kind towards women than most male feminists who claim to "respect whamen" & label people like Johnny Bravo as "incels/chuds/dudebros", later turn out to be rapists.

Seriously, you'd never see Johnny being hurt by rejections (except for the Velma short, but even that only sustained for only a little while), you'd never see him be angry when things don't go his way, despite his desparation to get in relationships. He always tries to do his best.

Also, followed the Zyzz routine
He also never self-loathes like a zoomie, but self-loves like a chad
Also, the show satirizes itself without being biased, or as subtle as a sledgehammer.

Also, he had success off-screen, the show is mostly about his failures, with some rare Ws (the Clussy episode). The guy who we're supposed to laugh at is more of an inspiration at this point.

Yeah, I can imagine CN as a whole dilating over Johnny Bravo's existence.

This is still objectively the best pairing both JB & Velma got. JB doesn't get successful on-screen & circumstances fucked him over all the time.

While Velma got into a forced relationship with Shaggy, until Shaggy BTFO'd it, & then later some out of nowhere shit with the Hot Dog girl. And now she's a dyke, paired with someone's borderline Tumblr OC from their personal art blog & James Gunn being a retarded hack who's the main force behind this retcon.
VelmaGunn.png
This whole thing is so retarded that I wish he actually got cancelled for those tweets, if I knew this is what was coming as a result of him staying in business.

That said, I admit to being MATI here due to how retarded & sad it all is. A good pairing of characters got fucked over, & Scooby-Doo was getting fucked over since a decade ago. I personally never liked Mystery Incorporated even as a kid, I dislike it even more now. There was that shitty hipster comic that almost made me hate the series altogether, & many other things.

Fyi, when Gunn tried to make her a lesbian, it wasn't for the sake of representation. It was done more as an edgy joke, since the film was written with a PG-13 in mind and he was still an edgy motherfucker.

That probably annoys me the most out of anything. It's not done for any good reason, & has no depth behind it, but just for a joke, combined with LGBT pandering (aka blatant marketing). Seriously, the twittards & tumblrtards eating it all up pretty much tells you who's supposed to be the core audience for this retardation.

Iirc there's even an episode about that where a guy tries to "teach" Johnny his gross weasel tricks and Johnny rats him out the the ladies who then proceed to kick the creep's butt.

Edit: Found it

Dude was catfished and he still took the doe out on a date because he's a true and honest good guy, and he doesn't actually shout misogynistic things like some rando dude they run over at the end.

The show would never get made today, but I legit don't get why he's hated on these days outside of "No fun allowed". Modern day "critics" just don't understand satire, and Johnny Bravo is pretty nuanced in that regard since it's like he stepped out of the '50s (given he's an amalgamation of The Fonz and Elvis but if they were complete losers) but he's not "with the times" and he can't seem to understand that, which is why he constantly gets rejected. One of my favorite lines of Johnny's is when he's watching TV, comes across I think a medical ad, and he exclaims "A lady doctor? Has science come that far???" and it's funny because he's naïvely clueless about the modern-day "girlboss". But he's still an equal opportunist despite that.

Think he's being labeled an "incel" by some weirdoes (he's the "milady" type), but even with his simp-like nature (dude got insulted and that might've gotten him harder), there's no way he'd ever fall into that trap, nor would he ever go MGTOW. Dude's perseverance is quite admirable, and in terms of PUAs in fiction and other horndogs (especially when you look at similar characters like Quagmire, Yakko and Wakko, Pokémon's Brock, and Ataru from Urusei Yatsura), he's probably one of the most tame, proper ones out there. Hell, seems like he only has two pin-up posters in his room, and I have to wonder if he even has any girlie magazines under his mattress whatsoever.

Anyway the obsession with making Velma canonically lesbian is so goddamn gross and obnoxious on top of being insulting to her character. And yet I'm just confounded they haven't decided to go the whole nine yards and also make Fred gay and have himself a black boyfriend on top of that. They're not even bothering to cover up the fetishization left behind by Legend of Korra by zoning in directly on Velma like that instead of, I dunno, trying to sell the show to prove why this iteration of Scooby-Doo is completely different from all the others, and "being hella gay" doesn't count. Cartoon Network should totally be next to get gutted by Discovery+, they're just asking for it.

Honestly, I could never see Velma being interested in Shaggy or any guy. She always seemed like a carpet muncher.

I'm sure this is all just for show and she'll be back to being "straight" when it's all said and done. That new brown girl seems like the diversity points Powerpuff Girl that was added in the reboot. Knowing the climate we're in now, I can't wait for the revelation that Shaggy is actually bi/gay and he and Velma were the ultimate beards.

Ah yes, the "nice guy" episode, before the term "nice guy" was even made.

Seriously tho, if this show ever had something close to an antagonist, it would this guy (he doesn't even have a name lol). He's not a himbo like Johnny, so he uses his advantage in wisdom to get girls. He doesn't have Johnny's innocent & naive kindness, so he fakes & weaponizes a veil of "kindness" (the Reddit Nice Guy™ version).

He doesn't actually give a shit about actually being kind to the girls, unlike JB's authentic nature of being a honest & genuine guy. JB is always shown as a kind natured, romantic in the show. Johnny himself realised that The Sensitive Male (that's actually what he's called, cause he doesn't have a name) was basically a crock of shit & calls it out at the end.

Hell, that's what made the Johnny & Velma pairing so good. JB fell in love a girl who's extremely different than his usual hotties & models & was so genuinely in love that he even proposed to this meek, tame, nerdy, girl who's almost the opposite of him. And even in Velma declining for marriage for her career (that's actually what kept this pairing going in the double digit ratio of fans it has (including me) because Velma didn't say no to the idea itself, just the timing), he was not angry at Velma, just sad, & then moved on & went back to his usual self.

I admit to looking too much into it, but Johnny Bravo is fucking kino. I admit to the same thing for the whole Johnny & Velma pairing, but this was the most authentic duo Hanna Barbara made. Also, Chad Jocks & Nerdy QTs pairing are good & cute shit that's not done enough.

Dude was catfished and he still took the doe out on a date because he's a true and honest good guy, and he doesn't actually shout misogynistic things like some rando dude they run over at the end.

It's actually funny in some ways. We're supposed to laugh at Johnny & take a lesson of not being like him. But when you get into it, he's more inspirational anything. He had off-screen successes confirmed by the creators themselves, it's just the failures are more funny to see. Majority of JB is that one should be:
>Healthy & fit.
>Love themselves.
>Never giving up.
>Be honest & genuine.
>Don't let rejection let you down.
>Be a gentleman despite the circumstances.
>Don't unnecessarily blame other for everything.

These are all great morals to have. The whole "incel/chud/dudebro" thing came from people who don't understand the satire or even the point of the show.

The show's also ahead of it's time too, talking about things like Nice Guy™ Predditors, dealing with toxicity in the most stress-free way (The Mermaid one) & the Clussy

As for the dyke Velma thing, it's retarded as it is, kids don't give a fuck about this. Also, Velma had more male love interests than even Daphne. It's just James Gunn fucking up even more since Mystery Incorporated. The Shaggy thing was retardedly forced & led to some character assassinations like Scooby-Doo being malicious. This whole thing is pandering at worst (you can see who it is pandering to at Twitter, Reddit, Tumblr, YouTube), marketing scheme at best, to drum up a non-troversy so creators & CN can bitch & moan about an upcoming "(insert buzzword to label old fans & critics) are le harassing us" article by some tabloid.

Except, while it is happening, the majority doesn't give a shit much, not about the film, not about the series even, most don't even give a shit about Western Animation at all nowadays, it's mostly all about anime & indie stuff on YT. The fans don't give a shit much, the R34 artists & coomers will just continue as usual.
