Discussions about budget and toys like this make me think about how low of a budget you could work with and still make a "good" product (aside from resorting to slave labor animation I mean). Like, how much lack of animation quality could you make up for with good writing, ideas, direction and general SOVL? Especially with the rise of AI art shit, which even without more advanced shit like auto-inbetweening or other shit that's not really developed yet, you could use it to fill in gaps like creating background art and shit just using free apps. How much could you disconnect animation from the profit motive or whatever the fuck while still putting out a product that people would actually consoom?

I have neither the skills nor the work ethic to do something like that on my own though. Hey, anyone wanna start up a shitty animation studio? P:

Look, I'm not talking about them quality-wise. Yes, most of them are shit, but at least they mostly have their own animation studios that they animate themselves than just outsource to another studio, unlike the US.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't canuck content producers have to hire local to get access to their government subsidies and Canadian commie tv air time?

Yep. Canada has the law that 35% of broadcast content HAS to be Canadian for radio and journalism shit too.

It's funny how many of these cartoons are suddenly canceled the moment the genderspecial/gay episode comes around after many episodes of it being unheard of in-series. It's like the networks/production studios know that it would never fly but wait until the very end when it's being pulled to get it out there. We saw it happen with Arthur, after all.

Maybe the tides really are starting to turn, but there's still too much backed-up shit to wade through.

I forced myself to watch a clip of this circulating online and they talk like characters on Christian shows made by people who don't know how to do anything but preach. They'd be right at home with Hermie & Friends.

I dunno man... Even a random episode of VeggieTales looks downright Shakespearean compared to this homo bison's lack of nuance

For all the good that makes. Any Canadian studio knows thay can churn sub-par manure because Canucks will foot the bill

Dude, this is business and you have count the different out comes if you want to do it well. I'm going trust you on that majority aren't bothered by same sex kiss in a kids show. Ok but any that is will turn it off and could not trust any more products from you guys again. That's still a negative outcome. Now how many will turn it off by not having the kiss there? None because nobody knows. How many will turn to watch if there is a same sex kiss? This point everyone is trying to be inclusive so the kiss isn't an unique selling point so basically none.

Same sex kisses just aren't worth it to include like that.
