12 Oz. Mouse was a masterpiece.
tbh ozmo isn't a good example of low budget work since it was the end product of over a decade of guys at Williams Street bulking shitpost assets and ideas from SGC2C, it's more "low budget style to hide the renaissance artist behind the curtain"

It's sad that people have giving this a bum rep because of this because of the very low budget, which was literally the whole point of the series. Many Adult Swim shows from the 2000s had very crude, low budget aesthetics.

I guess Divesity is more important than Quality...
I hate when they color black characters so dark that you can't make out their features. Just light up the skin tone a notch or change line are so that I can make out the eyebrows at least. They are so important for expressing any emotion. That's why very basic tactic of a creepy character designs is leave them out. Furthermore how are you going to show her expressions when her mouth is closed?

The middle girl looks like a design I have seen somewhere else before, I'm just having a hard time figuring out who. I only say this because modern Western magical girl cartoons always rip designs from other shows (usually anime) and call it "influenced", and she in particular is ringing some bells. And no, it's not the shorts and leggings combo, it's the hair alongside it.
Most likely not what you meant, but while digging I was reminded of this pretty bad tv show that was on pretty frequently.

And a cartoon that was pretty nice.

In general, black/blue hair and red clothes is a very basic combo that's done very frequently, especially with mid-legth hair or pigtails apparently.

This design is also in line with pretty much any Canadian animated show from the 2000s onward

To me it's rather blackface-looking.

It is for kickstarter. They'll get nonstop promotion on the main page, and major press coverage for this. It may also help them in their professional careers, especially if nobody watches it and they can play the victim card of we were harassed off the internet. Notice how they didn't describe the show, only the genre in a couple words, and then the rest of the description is the identities of the creators. That's intentional. Also love they have black and POC in their description.

They probably saw years ago that they basically stickied a comic about black woman washing their hair for months on the platform until it finally got funded through sheer exhaustion.

RJ Palmer looks like this in real life, by the way:

This is the guy telling you that AI art is stealing his job.

It's borderline depressing that you have to get into the industry by doing fanfiction and fanart of well established IPs. I'm not saying originality is dead, but I am saying that it's on life support and it will die in about two to five years.

I've said it before, I'm saying it again, & I'll keep saying it. RJ Palmer is a fucking lolcow & he deserves a thread.

Love his Arbok evolution design tho, yet he will never make an OG Pokemon for Nintendo. That is his version of "YWNBAW".

He looks exactly like I thought he would. Except not balding.

Artists can do it you just need to learn how to network properly. Fanart is just a fast track to getting instant likes on social media in hopes maybe normies will like your original stuff. Never getting your own IP popular or publishable, forced to do other people's work, has been the name of the game since almost the dawn of cartoons unless you self publish. Which honestly is insanely easy now compared to even 10-20 years ago.

And for years, ArtStation has been more of a premiere online art center.

My disappointment upon learning that the entire creative team isn't composed of deaf & disabled black POCs
Shit, what about deaf and disables asian POCs, no matter if they are male or female?
