Young adults don't even get jobs/start apprenticeships or have ambitions (or even fucking hobbies they enjoy) that they practice for lately. They're either Boo Radley types or sad girls who write the sort of reddit posts you see in the man-hate thread about the sex they don't like having with the guy whose rent they pay.
Well, I guess some are junkies, and you can make a pretty funny show of just junkie antics, but not for lower than an R rating.
That old cartoon Downtown may as well be Romeo&Juliet for how much it functions as historical record rather than entertainment nowadays.

One of the punchlines of the pilot was the dog saying to the cat after she had her breakdown, "I'm so sorry they misgendered you". Probably eluding to the cat being a theybian or some shit.

I am very tempted to make a cartoon or comic about a couple of Spec Ops agents infiltrating a furry underground base and exterminating the furries DOOM style.

Never expect the terminally online to make anything outside of something that appeals to said terminally online.

Clocked the trans VA immediately.

It'll gain a big fanbase anyway. The saturation flourishes because these people yearn for #relatability than #originality.

Can't critique it either no matter how sincere you are with it, by the way. It's indie, therefore it's absolved of any criticism.

That'd be a pretty big surprise. Given how much people on this site sperg about "MUH TRANNYCORE FLASHING COLORS AND SKETCHY PIXELS", I thought a """Kiwi Cartoon""" or a """Kiwi Game""" would be something slower-paced with a more desaturated color palette.

No, I didn't watch it. I just saw a thumbnail of the teaser a while back and extrapolated everything.

I don't think it will get that big of a fan base. I've seen more people critique the pilot rather than giving it praise. Maybe if it had made 5 to 10 years ago, I could see it being more well-received. But as I mentioned before, the market for this particular genre has been oversaturated. Nowadays, there has to be a unique and interesting premise if you want eyes to catch on to your project. It reminds me a lot of LS Mark's own pilot and I know that didn't catch on either.

Who is this relatable to, though? Outside of The Terminally Online?

I got 50 seconds into it and we were hit with:
☆ doomscrolling
☆ posting fake stories to Reddit
☆ incredibly niche "fandom" stuff

That's not worldbuilding. It's throwing stereotype in top of stereotype and calling it "character".

And the dialogue was painfully basic. I realize they are trying to establish things, but no pizazz, no uniqueness to THESE characters?

I'd make a series of caricaturistic and satirical shorts, would be kind of fitting for the website. In the style of that one USSR animated adaptation of "The Mystery of the third planet". The shorts would revolve around making fun of people who overshare and want to be famous, as the site's purpose suggests.

You had me at Mystery of the Third Planet.

But onto Wastelandia, I got a lot to say about it in terms of how production was handled. I feel like allocation of resources was mismanaged it shouldnt have been fully animated by a small team of freelancers izzzy should've just made the animatic herself and saved a lot of time and money. It can help you focus on the script and content instead of having a script locked down and can't fix any pacing/story issues. That's the problem with inexperience and working with full animation.
 
Every big female-led project seems to be about either battered men kissing or autistic lesbians standing around doing nothing raging impotently against the machine. I almost wanna work on my own ded stories again just so people have something else to look at lmfao. Like, Lackadaisy exists, for sure, but it's frustrating that dreck like Wastelandia grabs the most attention. Frustrating and embarrassing!
