God it feels kinda weird thinking that Hirsch has made anything besides gravity falls, considering how big the show was you’d think people would be open to having the guy on the team.

Looking at his constant political sperging makes it clear the guy is insufferable, so it doesn't surprise me that he hasn't been involved with many projects since Gravity Falls ended.

He’s a male feminist, redditor that’s 5”4 and has an inferiority complex with other men. That’s why he grovels around women.

Gravity Falls is carried HARD only for the lore and theory-baiting it spawned. It had some decent jokes sure, but it was still plauged with "Millenial Humor" and I would not be surprised if some of the worst jokes or parts about the show were written by Hirsch himself.
Just to give an example, there's a little trivia about two background characters that kind of look like Dipper and Mable, and when asked what their names were, Hirsch replies "Shmipper and Smabble".
It's the kind of Reddit-Chungus "humor" that makes me think Hirsch is a total hack who caught lightning in a bottle and let writers more competent than him take the wheel before he could crash and burn it himself.

I'm sure you've seen this post before. He's not wrong honestly. (Funny how he critizes china here when that's were socialim orginated from)

Why would Disney still try to pander to Russians, aren't they blocked from purchasing Disney products because of sanctions? And lack of Muslim and African countries (i.e. Saudi Arabia and Uganda) being mentioned also stands out.

not surprising since it is a 2010’s show, if it was shown within today’s age without a doubt it’s be a bit more criticized.

I feel like the more you dig deep into certain writing choices of the series via interviews and such you learn a thing or two.

Rebecca is sad to me. She knew that she couldn't make something as good as what she was inspired by but she still tried. Something that gets overlooked is how much work was put into the background/scene design, as an offset for how simple and cut back the character design is. It helps it feel a bit more like a real world instead of some garbage thrown on screen. But then it became a success, and all of the animators after her lowered their standards, because SU was now the highest pinnacle of animation for them, and the average sat a lot lower.

Unfortunately they should've put just as much effort into the worldbuilding. Despite the monsters, holes, random alien technology, and the big crater in Russia, the humans barely acted like gems even existed. There are all these hints at a larger world that rarely got looked into, if at all, because Sugar and the storyboarders wanted to have lesbian tea parties and play doll house. One way SU lowered animation standards was that it proved that lesbian tea parties and inconsistent blobs were viable in the then-contemporary animation meta, hence She-Ra et al.

I hated the writing and the humour as a teen, alongside AT and SU. When you know what good plot and characters look like, you can feel the smug/faggy milennial writing from a mile away. People loved these series for surface-level things like the back then new and hip mystery box (yes, many life action series exploited such gimmik to hide a bad plot structure but hey now it's in cartoon form, woaaah!) and waifu crap. I was so relieved when every goddamn person on Youtube stopped shilling and overglorifying these objectively mid series.
