I was about to sell my PAL-copy of Symphony of the Night to the PS1, but thankfully, I stopped myself before I could earnestly proceed with the plan.
The only thing not great with my copy of SOTN is that the music-CD that came along with it when I bought it from eBay is pretty damaged. The blue cover seems to be fairly damaged, with chipped colors. I don't know if it would work when inserted into a CD-player, but the bottom part of the CD seems to be intact at least.
Anyways, while I love the art style of SOTN, and while I think it's a good game on its own, I don't consider it to be a fantastic game, as so many people claim it is. My main complaint is that it's simply too easy, and that the role-playing elements are just fluff which serve little to no actual meaning gameplay-wise. I guess this is true for most Metroidvania-games though.
At any rate, I did like both Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 1 & 2, and I especially liked that you got to play as Dracula in Lords of Shadow 2. Neither is a perfect game, but I found them to be enjoyable enough back when. Maybe I should replay them to see if they still hold up.
I really wish we could get another installment into the series, but then again, considering Current Year, I guess one should be careful for what they wish for.
