CenturyLink/Qwest/Layer3 blocks Kiwi Farms

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Just got off the phone to 3, long winded and unproductive as of yet. I informed somebody I couldn't connect to a website, waited and connected to network support. I explained I was receiving a timeout error, after they tried to get me to send a screenshot I explained that it was a routine error and a screenshot wouldn't tell them anything new. Around in circles with suggestions I turn my phone on and off. They tried to connect, and failed, hitting a brick wall in terms of what they could do. The most interesting thing, the woman asked me; 'Is this website scamming or harassing?', I responded no, and after a moment asked if she'd been told anything about this website, to which she responded no.

Finally, she asked me to try to connect with another ISP, in an effort to end the phonecall. It's too late to call back today, but I'd be interested to hear any experiences others have had with 3.

My ISP isnt the problem though. Its only when I'm on my VPN (and not connecting through Norway) that it wont connect.

VPN off works just fine. I suspect because I have a relatively small, regional, ISP.
Oh, sorry, I missed that.

In that case you should rather thank them and maybe send a gift basket or something to the poor engineers that got tasked with fixing this mess right before Christmas.

Was able to browse on Clearnet yesterday, now I can't on either mobile or desktop via Brave. TOR still works, at least.

The following ISPs are either rejecting our announcement or blackholing our routes (103.114.19.0/24
). This is unprecedented without court order. We are a legal site being blocked by massive corporations, in violation of European Net Neutrality.

* Lumen (a/k/a CenturyLink, Qwest, Level 3) (Tier 1)
* GTT (Tier 1)
* Arelion (Tier 1)
* Zayo (Tier 1)
* Voxility

It's the Christmas Season and there's limited options. VPNs (particularly from Amsterdam) will work. Tor will work. I will keep the site available as I can.

After New Years, if this is not resolved, I will declare 𝕿𝖔𝖙𝖆𝖑 𝕽𝖊𝖙𝖆𝖗𝖉 𝖂𝖆𝖗. The digital equivalents of the post office are refusing us the most fundamental levels of infrastructure simply because they do not want to deal with complaint volume. So, we will complain louder.

If we don't undo this damage, then the first nail is in the coffin for free speech online. Without hyperbole, they have established a surefire way to remove any website from the Internet and every ISP will have to deal with direct, personal harassment because they have proven IT WORKS.

If you are in these companies, you must vocally renounce this decision.
if you are in the industry and have connections, you must vigorously reject this.
If you are a direct customer, you must complain to them, and you must complain to the FCC (US) and BEREC (EU).

And if that doesn't work in short order, I will reach out to the media. The ordinary person opposed to the status quo needs to understand how unbelievably fucking insidious this is. It will absolutely happen to alternative media sources very soon. They're already lining up their next targets.

It should be enough to say that you are not able to connect to 103.114.191.1, and that you know/have been told this is because of routing issues some ISPs are having.

If you manage to get this either passed on to or explain it directly to their NOC/engineers on call they should be able to fix it (as other ISPs have).

In general, shit service, shit coverage, shit customer support. I've only been using them because they promised to maintain unlimited roaming in countries that I visit on a somewhat regular basis, but now they've scrapped that and the only thing they have left is unlimited data.

On this issue in particular, I've contacted them with their online form, because I hate their customer service line. I don't think I'll hear back.

Assuming there will be a total retard war (of which i am always very much in favor) how much might that cost? I am willing to go into my own pockets but they are not very deep.

If you don't want to invoke the evil Kiwifarms name or IP, you can also say "madattheinternet.com" and "103.114.191.11"
