To be even fairer, Denji is ranking way up on the anime character scale of being absolutely abused and having everything taken from him. He doesn't even have the benefit of having a normal friendship for a sane amount of time.

Well, Asa's age doesn't come into it since it was War taking the charge. I still file this more as 2 horny teens that got a bit too hot and bothered in a moment of heat/stress. That and in the context of anime/manga, a lot of garbage fanservice scenes in shonen that make some smooth brains think sexual content happening in Chainsaw Man is bad when it’s part of the point.

This was a decent video, only thing I disagree with is labeling Himeno a pedophile when she was drunk and apologized to Denji the next day, took his “no” and didn’t do anything, and even saying she wouldn’t have done it anyway.

Counterpoint: being drunk has never been a valid excuse for fooling around with a minor and her only given reason for regretting it was that she could have been arrested (granted, may have been a touch of sarcasm). At bare minimum it's a massive moral gray area.

Denji and Power were literal child soldiers forced into slavery under the threat of death.

In one chapter they were murdered over and over again as part of training exercise.

Trying to bring real world ethics into this is some serious autism.

Whether or not she creeped on a minor and whether or not it fits the overall tone are two separate questions. That was the impression I got. If you don't think it's worth splitting hairs over then fair enough. I just don't think it's that much of a stretch to say she was creeping on a minor. I don't even think it's a bad thing narratively, the entire theme of that first arc is a highly predatory taking advantage of an especially psychologically vulnerable 14 year old(is he 14 at the time? pretty sure he's either 14 or 15).

Denji was 16, he turned 17 near the end of Part 1, and he’s currently 18.
