Im noticing this a lot actually. People calling themselves or their characters dumb/idiotic. Maybe it is a characteristic that is seen as innocent ,cute, and/or endearing. Like an adorable innocent dumb little rabbit that cannot do any wrong because of how stupid they are.

That's basically it. If you're not doing it because of bimbo fetishing, making your character stupid is the new being clumsy for cute quirky points. It usually isn't detrimentally stupid like cows act, just the occasional bad choice or superficial mistake.
