No, as much as I hate the man, one thing I'll give him credit for is that, until he took off in 2016, he genuinely clawed his way to his position on his own. As I have stated previously, in his early days his gimmick was that he donated 100% of his YouTube money to charity, as he worked a full time job and did YouTube as a hobby, he even provided receipts of his donations every month. There was a video in this era where he actually apologized because he had to use the YouTube money for vehicle repairs and medical bills because a woman blindsided him and she had no insurance. Afterwards, he went back to donating the money.

That's probably why I hate him so much. It's my personal, genuine belief that under that smug YouTuber facade, there is a proud, hardworking, honest American trying to claw his way out.

I used to like critikals content but the same video week after week “oh this is bad I would never do that” gets repetitive, I can’t believe he has the platform he does and fumbles a debate with sneako? People were mad at Jontron this is worse. The defense on Critikal was oh he didn’t know he was going into a debate. Didn’t he know he was going into a call with Sneako? The person he has drama with? It was funny to see him throw a fit and leave the internet for 3 days though.

I agree that his tech videos are pretty good. I used his single-gpu passthrough guide to get a gaming VM set up for myself just this weekend, and it worked like a charm. He might have some shit takes, but as a techtuber he does a good job.
