Reacting to current, evolving events in the online sphere is what's most likely to harm him, emotionally or financially.

Reacting to a police chase, or reading some dumb screencapped texts from Reddit (etc) is safe, but Charlie's just seen that if he makes a "thing bad!" video about one very current event, now he's expected to do the exact same for the next event, in the same timetable.

There are people who do this on purpose, but I think Charlie has just stumbled into it, and might just now be realizing the unspoken agreement he's made to be a "journalist." He thought he was just talking about stuff he saw, in the context of having hours of streaming to fill, and then turning it into a video.


I wouldn't be surprised if he issues a statement later that he's not a news channel, and he doesn't want not talking about something to be interpreted as "silence."

I also wouldn't be surprised if he doubles down and becomes a news commenter. But he's nearing the point where he has to pick a direction.

Agreed on the sentiment that his reactions to bizarre, awkward shit made for better content than his current milquetoast commentaries.

It was the perfect avenue for his deadpan kind of humor from his old let's plays, and compared to other major YouTubers, it provided a niche of finding some completely out-there shit and showing it to everyone else while being able to make some quips out of it.

Perhaps he's still done this from time to time, but I haven't kept up with his channel for a few years now. My impression of him since then has been of him being a livestreamer that just puts vids out on whatever the latest beaten dead horse is.

Like I said in my last post he isn't built for this world. He shouldn't be covering drama or participating in IBS when so many of his assosciates and connections have their skeletons in their closet, on top of his viewers being the most normie audience possible. This is possibly the worst career path he could've taken and its biting him in the ass. I miss the old Charles.

Charlie should've stuck with making FPS videos. His takes are either retarded or milquetoast. I'm not surprised though.

I made this thread over 2 years ago with 'going off rails' cause he was acting nuts, but now.. Everyone's dunking on him hard. He needs to disappear for a week or something unless he wants to join a real cow forum, IMO.

Yuck. That just sounds like a "dumb and high in college" story, though, not a Louis CK bombshell.

It's funny how Charlie got within the event horizon of a troon with the most bland and innocuous take, but because it was a troon he's being pulled into drama, hard, in a way he didn't see coming and probably doesn't completely understand. Should have paid attention to his Turkish edgelord.

This is kind of how the TERF Queen JKR saga started: generally uninformed but well-meaning, learning startling new facts in public from awful people and being forced to constantly restate and defend a position on a topic they didn't know about until today. Charlie is more likely to bend the knee and go dark, though.

Boy, it was pretty hot. Just saying worst since he's been on youtube, kept saying he didn't think sneako meant 'cut off dick' literally, all sorts of crazy cope. Defending himself saying Sneako said worst. Someone said 'they're both bad' and he was insisting that if kid gets just 'information' it's ok to do as an adult (lie), It was wild. Quit about 5 minutes after the convo went south and said 'gotta go, can't think about anything else'.

A lot of 'kids never go to doctor and get HRT or whatever from doc right away', that never happens'.
