There is plenty of research showing that transitioning in childhood improves mental health and outcomes like passing and these result in better quality of life for the child in the long term
Early transition decreases suicide rates instead of nothing at best or increased rates at worst
I seem to recall researchers being forced to recant their studies [about trannies not being less suicidal after they got surgery] a while ago, because of said studies being unpopular with the pro-trans crowd. This is something that's becoming less of an occurrence, with more studies reporting mixed or neutral findings in regards to pre vs post-op tranny mental health outcomes (eg: the 2018 Heritage Foundation Commentary article). Additionally, there are contemporary studies now that show ~85% of kids who thought they were trans grow up to be completely normal.
The oft-repeated lie [that puberty blockers merely pause puberty and have no long-lasting effects] the pro-trans groups like to tout is being thoroughly eviscerated. Puberty blockers irrevocably stunt development, IQ, and bone growth to where children taking them develop osteopenia or osteoporosis.
There is a long and involved process of doctors referrals, therapists, differential diagnoses, and verifying things like depression are well managed, before medical transition can occur.
Children must socially transition for a period of time to verify its not a fad or a mistake before they can access puberty blockers or medication.
About a decade ago, the pro-trans group was upset about therapy being mandatory before cross-sex hormones (or rather, the prescription of) and transitioning was possible. Their claim was that delaying transitioning is "literally killing trans people", because trannies with dysphoria would rather kill themselves rather than wait for their prescription. Thus, the rise of rather crooked doctors handing out prescriptions for cross-sex hormones became more common, until transitioning became more publicly accepted.
It's rather anecdotal, but I've been noticing a trend where people are being more critical of transitioning in general, to the point where they form public groups discussing the harm done to their bodies, and how they were viewed as more of a medical experiment than being genuinely helped. This, of course, means that they are targets for pro-trans groups who think they are fostering a hostile environment towards trannies. Additionally, things like autogynephilia (AGP) and autoandrophilia (AAP) are becoming more publicized, which would involve people understanding why they have a cross-dressing fetish instead of being told they're trans and must remove perfectly functioning organs.
