I would wager a lot of these redditors imagine themselves as "climate-change activists" who are "very concerned about the future of the environment," right?

So if you really want to break them, hammer home just how much energy is wasted to generate their wankbait and imaginary friends.

I really don't see how these companies can keep eating the operating costs to provide free access to this shit long-term, if they continue to be clueless about how to meaningfully monetize the stuff. I guess this is tech's all-in gamble to deal with a world where inflation and interest rates actually exist after having been free of that for a decade and a half.

I disagree. I mean, when it comes to emails or narrations, you at least simply see and read a piece of text. It makes sense that some people can't tell. However, when it comes to ChatGPT and the use of it by redditors and emotionally unstable people, they're using it as a conversational partner. In this case, the superficiality and artificiality of it REALLY shines. I tried out ChatGPT as a conversational partner before the upgrade, and God it was just so insufferable, I can't believe those people are so dependent on it!
 
I think alot of those companies use there "user numbers", as leverage. hey dear jewish investor look at our numbers, we can make lots of money trust us! as soon as schlomo says no more the free use is gone

Just off the top of my head, the old claim that very stupid people will go "well X phenomenon can't exist because I've met one smart X before" is constantly posted there. These are the sorts who find ChatGPT conversation stimulating.

Communists don't understand the concept of scarcity and they don't care about the cost of anything as long as they get what they want, everyone arguing against them should know this by now.

The funds don't come from sales, they come from investors, whoever those are. It's started to get tight, but they've still a long way to go before they have to get rid of their legions of inproductive indians and women.

Most general doctors are worthless either way and just exist to stand between you and specialized doctors that they'll hopefully direct you to. How many times have you seen someone complain about almost dying of cancer because their doctor thought they were too young to be worth testing for their symptoms, or having to constantly advocate for themselves to get a chance at getting treated? At best you get a printout from mayo clinic and a note that says "lol. lmao." and a $100 copay. That's not even getting to if you need to see a doctor soon. With how overbooked they are, you''ll probably get the indian doctor who hates you personally because he has the shortest waiting list. I hate everything about AI but the average doctor is even less useful.

Or just invented AI general intelligence, which I guess would make us Gods. At that point though, you really have to start tangling with morality and honestly I can't find a ethical solution other than giving the AGI a right to life.

Anything we've done before that point though is basically an incredibly smart autocorrect no matter how much people talk about true intelligence.

I understand loneliness also. I have felt it before but I know the limitations and what it means overall. Their are more lonely people nowadays given that internet/technology is infact a 100% replacement for real life and interactions but the human condition simply has not changed or never can change to account for that. The next pseudo replacement is being eaten up and its LLM's. Waifu's should have been even more of a warning than they were thought of but hindsight is 20/20 for sure.

Literally most characters there are just those fetishes.
The biggest disadvantage is that it's like Character.ai and thus the character says something to you first. Can be easily fixed but most gooners are too busy to write an interesting or proper intro. Can even download characters from Janny AI or Tavern/Kobold and use them on Chub. Its actually kinda good for roleplaying, because you can connect lorebooks, stages (mini games and such) and have many presets, I checked it out and it's a pretty good tool, similar to Tavern application, but it's purely online.

The biggest downfall of it is that most charaters and their intros are cringe as fuck. And the cringiest OCs are most popular for some reason.

Investors aren't signing up to run red on these companies, and only a portion of their cash-flow is coming from issuing shares. A lot of it is coming from loans and debt, which were cheap as hell and easy to repay when the interest rate was near-0 (or actually zero, even) and inflation never crept up past 2%.

There's a reason all of this shit was dropped, at once, without any safety rails or broader consideration for the obvious negative consequences, a few months after the interest rate hike in '22 closed off access to free capital. Tech companies had burned up so much fucking cash on obviously-stupid projects (Stadia, Metaverse, basically anything Twitter does ever, etc) and now suddenly had a 5% interest rate to contend with. That's why you started to see mass layoffs in tandem with the rollout of this shit, which still has yet to really pay out.

The influx of VC, of retarded investors failing to recognize market distortion and a bubble, is a stopgap to try to tide over the cost of these companies' mountains of debt until they roll out something that actually allows them to pay the operating and development costs of AI. It's a race to be the one that makes the Windows of AI, and to get there before the very obvious market correction strikes as these stopgaps begin to dry up.

Aren't a lot of those redditors content creators, to begin with? And by content creators, I mean artists. It makes sense why they would hate AI so much. To be honest, I also sympathized with them before I tried out the whole AI thing, and realized how shitty it actually is (and that times are changing, you can't just rely on being small-time artist alone for a living).

Eh, I disagree. You can't really rely on AI to make a proper diagnosis of a patient. Not only that, you don't even have to be in a rural area to realize that one general practitioner is much more useful than having each people rely on ChatGPT for their health issues. Not every health problem needs a specialized doctor nor they can be simply solved by AI. They're not only the necessary buffer so that the specialized doctors aren't overwhelmed, they're also still necessary for the citizens as a whole.
