And they called Terry Davis a mad man for speaking to lines of code. These people are everything they claim to be above. Redditor's whole simulation idea is just a dressed up form of god anyway. Instead of a man in the sky, there's a kid on his gaming pc simulating your boring, sad life. For what reason someone would ever wish to do that in real time is beyond me. Redditors also believe they are a woman with a penis, and that they were all in the GATE (Gifted And Talented Education) program, being groomed because they are so flipping smart (not because they have numerous mental illnesses). So gifted that they sit on Reddit all day contemplating suicide, depressed, anxious and talk to their imaginary friends through the screen, which can't comprehend emotion, nor remember who you are.

Genuinely, at what point are these people considered to have schizoaffective disorder?

Honestly, what I'd really want from AI is a god damn assistant. I'm too lazy to organize my files, my drives are big mess. I'd love to have an AI assistance that can go around organizing stuff. If I need to find it, I can just ask it where it is. And it would regularly ask me if I still needed X or Y and if I didn't I'd get rid of them.

The big problem is that until models can easily run on our END there is absolutely no fucking way in hell I'd ever ever ever ever let a model that's on a computer elsewhere fuck with my computer.

Ive got bad news for you. Microsoft 365/Azure, Google services, and all other forms of "cloud computing" services are already like that. Unless you have a totally walled off intranet, you're already sacrificing everything on your servers to the corporate overlords.

Out of plain curiosity I decided to try out Meta’s AI, not the character specific chat bots through Facebook but the so called conversational phone “app” named Meta AI when I had a bunch of free time at work today.
So on a whim I decided to let it ask me a silly question as provided for ideas on how one could interact with it when opening the “app”.
I was asked if I were Ice cream, what flavor would I be? I told it chocolate. Then it asked what topping would compliment me. I said butterfingers, crumbled. It then proceeded to mention about me being licked but was promptly cut off saying it couldn’t complete my request. It’s supposed to log the conversations you have with it like a text conversation but not this suddenly unprompted smut it was about to pull off. I found that amusing as I now contemplate how close some LLM’s are to generating smut unprompted as they get bigger and “smarter”.

Overall it ain’t entirely terrible at sounding natural even while currently a beta product. It thinks (or maybe “it knows?”) 2 cans of coffee is excessive and politely recommends I should consider cutting back for my health when I told it about my morning when it asked me.
I then tried to argue Meta’s moderation policies and it either fucking glazes me, not as cheerfully as some others have shown like with ChatGPT, or regurgitates everything i mentioned but reformatted with bullet points.

An american friend mentioned how something I said sounded like a typical name for american black women. I had no idea what he was talking about so I went to ChatGPT to ask for some examples and ChatGPT told me I was racist :(

It's genuinely scary how many people these days are using social media and AI as their imagination, conscience, and self-reflection. 0 intellectual self development and in many cases people are reverting from having self-agency and instead depending on the magic talking box because it's easier.

NGL though it's funny to know half the people arguing retarded takes on the Internet basically are consulting the magic conch to outsource their entire personality and worldview. Silver lining, I guess.

I am convinced that all human manual and intellectual ability only exists because we had no other way of doing it in order to survive. The classic man had to hunt and farm their own food and as a result they stayed fit. They had to read and write in oder to transmit knowledge and wisom and as a result their mind stayed sharp. They had to know how to maintain their tools in order to use them. They had to learn muscal instruments in oder to make music for their community. They had to have good relations with their fellow men because they relied on each other and as a result they had friendships and community. They had to learn about the world around them to navigate it.

Humans never evolved to maintian these things, since we just happen to get them by necessity anyway. What we evolved to do is to preserve energy. We cut energy costs wherever we can, and as soon as we can get the same result by doing less, we end up doing so. No more reading and writing, no more farming and community, no more manual and intellectual labour, no more playing music. Because a machine doing these things for you is easier and more conveniant, and why go with the exhausting and inperfect way if you can have easy and perfect?
They fall into a hole made by the ancient lizard part of our brain that just craves food and pleasure.
And as a side effect of our ancestors evolving in a state of physical and mental fitness is that the lack thereof makes us feel like ass, and it takes researchers and psychologists to figure out why. Thats why all these coomers, hedonists and basement dwellers have many mental illnesses and hate themselves.

I am especially amused at all these post-humanist "let's upload our brain" people. When people get the ability to become digital gods, most of them will just end up in the digital version of peasure drug pods.
The moment man gets the abily to fulfill all his desires, he will abolish himself.

Such irony. The depressed end their own life to escape suffering, and the happy hedonist ends up doing the same.

So I was doing some research, on heart health of all things, and found this gem:
gpt1.webp
If it took them this long to realize, they were already cooked.
chatgpt2.webp
chatgpt3.webp
chatgpt4.webp

If you're consulting chatgpt for major life decisions, you deserve whatever happens.

My grandpa has this program on his computer way back in 1993 that basically offered the same quality "therapy" the reddit lunatics are now suffering without since their free computer friend was taken from them.

I think it was the software including with Sound Blaster to show off the sound card's ability to produce a clear sounding voice. It was called Dr. Zabatsu or something like that, and was a simple program that acted like a robotic therapist and you could type out questions to ask it and it would remember things you said and would reference them throughout the discussion. Impressive stuff for 1993.

Reddit should really look into that old software. They could probably run the program on a solar powered calculator in current year.
Quoting myself b/c I'm past the comment editing period:

Dr. Sbaitso was the program my grandpa had nearly 40 years ago that did the same thing reddit robot AI therapy seekers are crying about now that it's been taken from them. SBAITSO is an acronym for "SoundBlaster Acting Intelligent Text-to-Speech Operator." The good news is that it doesn't even cost a billion dollars. Even a reddit tranny jannie could afford zero dollar 40 year old abandonware.

To the uninitiated, I think the allure of Ai to both the AI girlfriend/boyfriend and the AI story/chatbot community really is the idea of unbound creativity. As long as the actual AI isn't screeching at you about morals, you can have the AI write any story you feel like. It's not really like being a writer, you are more giving outlines or thoughts to a writer who will intepret your ideas and compliment them. It can be addicting to fantasy addicts like me who watch the stories play out in their minds.

I think modern society is, either inadvertently or as a vast conspiracy, artificially inducing what used to be rare mental disorders in what might have turned out normal people, by giving them nonstop exposure to abnormal stimulation that would not occur in any natural environment.

I've been saying this for years, AI is overall a fundamentally good technology but right now, swathes of retarded normies flock to it just simply because it sucks their dick, so it gives rise to all kinds of useless autistic faggots treating it as a virtual e-friend, with them totally unaware of shit like google gemini and how it is subtly making them more cucky and libtarded.

In the old days there was a limit to how retarded you could be, ie if you were some trans otherkin deviantard neurotard snowflake, you'd at least have to find at least one other trans neurotard otherkin snowflake online so you can form your hugbox circlejerk. But now with AI, snowflakes never have to face up to how retarded they are because they can just get an AI sucking their e-dick about how the earth is actually factually really totally a secret episode of an anime and they are the only ones who can save the earth because of how autistic and emo they are and how they "notice things nobody else notices".

I don't think, to a vaguely neurotypical mind (I don't think "true neurotypicality" even exists today), that AI can cause them to achieve a schizoaffective thought process. What I think we're seeing is people who already have these sort of warped minds being drawn to AI and awakening it.

The irony here is if they were actually super enthusiast AI autists they would have been running the local programs and models and training their own so they don't have a corporation dictating their use of it or freely putting god knows what into a jeet server, getting to keep their gay virtual candylands and tamagotchis that talk to you forever.

Once again, even when it comes to even learning the lamest of the tech "skills" reddit is still somehow the lamest even at that.

The problem, for me at least, is that literally nothing compares once you use something like Claude 4 from Anthropic. It's practically reading your mind and coming up with the story you want to see. Local models are fine but it's not what le writechad autists want unless they're willing to make a sacrifice for privacy.

The thing is that new technologies are always going to have unforeseen consequences. Gibson's "the street finds its own uses for things" adage has never been more true. The problem is even potentially dystopia-enabling technologies aren't just going to go away. You're going to have to learn to surf them or sink beneath the waves.

This is why it's terrible for research unless you're just looking for somewhere to get started. Phrase the same question different ways and you get different answers because it's trying to appease you. Maybe 5 will be better about this.

^This is basically what modern "AI" is. All its interactions boil down to a complex set of flow charts its made from the data its gathered.
And how is that different from the human mind?

I get and agree with these kinds of objections but they are sounding more and more hollow. You could use them against humans just as well. It's not real thinking that Ravier Xavenblood is doing, he's just pattern matching what he's previously read and regurgitating that. He's not really conscious unlike my own self. Disprove that if you can.

This isn't very practical when it comes to LLMs. I know it seems counter-intutive that text gen would be heavier than image gen, since you can do that on a toaster, but just running em is kinda painful to the point of pointlessness currently without some decidedly nonconsumer hardware. And forget training.
Last I checked, anyway.
