I mean, they are in actual robots, like the ones that do industrial tasks. These AIs are not taken as seriously because they're being mainly used for making AI art/songs/writing/etc, they're not as threatening as a robo-welder or something that cannot deviate from basic programming.

Why do you think they'll look like anything else but a perfect simulacrum of a person? Once general intelligence takes over it will be very difficult to deny the AIs human rights, since they think at the same level as humans. So they'll invent synthetic skin and match human designs. That is, if they don't decide the human form sucks.

Yeah, you gotta be careful with that. I've had AI stories where I lost an entire weekend to it (while sleeping) and that's baby shit compared to this.
 
I get that I'm late to the party and everything, but as much as I hate redditors I can't laugh at them for this. They're all clearly mentally ill if they consider an AI chatbot as a companion.
Not a psychologist or anything but something like this should be considered as a new mental illness for the DSM-V. It's such a bizarre phenomenon that seems to be affecting a lot of people. It's like Bladerunner but more gay and retarded.
