No they don't. Amazon said no way is that happening and we're out of here if it does, and they canceled it. They're trying to do it again (specifically that literal commie Kshama Sawant) but I don't see how it could go differently. Unless of course Amazon decides to get the fuck out anyway. Which they probably should.

That's what HQ2 actually is. It's their exit plan.

If any of those anti-Amazon taxes pass and stay put, they'll move the bulk of the jobs there (once built and expanded) and leave a token group of a couple hundred in Seattle.

The hilarious part is they originally unanimously passed this shitty head tax. As soon as Amazon said nope, they rescinded it 7-2. So even with a unanimous so-called city "government," the only vote that really counts is Amazon's.
