That is a castle doctrine state. AFAIK they only seized the guns suspected of being used during the...incident (for lack of a better term) which is not an illegal seizure (had a warrant and such, didn't take more than needed).
I don't think a jury will ultimately convict, especially if any of the recordings support that they were being actively threatened. The DA is pursuing it purely for political reasons and that's clear as day.
But they (or at least she) did quite possibly violate their brandishing law (by aiming it and not firing). That's typically a no-go. I'm not aware of any state where brandishing is itself considered legal under any circumstances - just really difficult to prosecute since it's typically a win/win (no one killed and the victim unmolested).
